I agree. While the WinSMP has the potential to give more PPD it just isn't consistent enough. However, GPU crunching is far more power intensive.

yep I have to agree with you there - also my GPU started going a bit mad I think so my machine is now doing standard WUs pending a re-install of WinXP and possibly a dual boot with Ubuntu so I can run the Linux client native and save myself some leccy :)
 
Well I've just come home to find that my 'working' pair of RAM have died, taking all 4 WUs with them :mad:

So back to 1gb, a lower overclock and 3 Linux SMPs for me for a while.

Still waiting for Crucial to return my other set of Ballistix :rolleyes:

PC5300 Ballistix.

This is the fourth pair that have died in just over 2 months.

Have you MemTest'ed them?
 
memtest, prime and s&m all throw up errors. :(

Using the same stuff, 4 gigs of 5300.

seems going back to stock wasn't a bad idea, ppd has gone up to 3910 :D

I'd send them back to Crucial.

Tho they usually have a very fast RMA service, they seem to have a heck of a lot of work on atm. Might be looking at 4-6 weeks for replacement.

I don't think I have stomped you. I think we are pretty evenly matched actually. One week you have a higher output and the next week its me.

Tell you what I'll watch your back as we both move into the top 100 in a few weeks time :D

And if situations change, you an watch mine while I take point. :p

Where do you get your money from to be chucking it at quaddies and DDR3 RAM?

When you actually overtook me you had a higher ppd and I thought I was goosed - but yeah, it seems pretty even at the moment.

I do however have a PS3 running in the loft creating its own microclimate - thats going to have to be switched off soon. ish.

We'll crack that top 100 in no time. ;)
