Probably will be the case that if prices rise and income falls, people won’t be quite so willing to buy a tin or two extra to pop in the supermarket food bank bin.Yeah, a hard brexit means they won't have any food to give out....
I swear a fair percentage of the population do care more for animals than their fellow humans.
What a stupid comment. How can somebody educate themselves if asking the question is met with responses like this.
Animals can't look after themselves in this world we've messed up. They need all the charity we can give them.
We could do with a few fewer humans.
Most animals can survive perfectly fine in the wild, certainly better than most people could ever do.
Animal obviously survive better in the wild. Human populations are exploding because we've made procreating and surviving easy. Then why is the human population exponentially increasing whilst most wildlife populations are dropping massively?
Yeah, a hard brexit means they won't have any food to give out....
Christ, this forum, head in the sand most of ya.
Food banks have increased massively due to extreme austerity imposed on the nation by the super rich (the tory party being the controlling force politically).
It's really quite obvious I don't understand why people refuse to see this.
On a side note, were approaching the end game of capitalism now, there is a few more decades left in the rotten machine but it will end likely 5-8 decades.
For the uneducated what will happen now in a roundabout way:
1) The super rich will try to privatise the planet essentially - end 'democracy' and become capitalist driven imperialism (essentially what the USA does now, meddles and invades counties with oil)
2) The rich will get richer and the poor poorer - this is nothing new but the pace and velocity of this will increase exponentially now over the coming decades
3) Most people of this forum are middle to middle upper class people, perhaps one or 2 high class - over the given time frames 99% will become destitutly poor, the middle will become poor, the poor will get wiped out.
4) In the end we will have a planet of nearly all incredibly poor people and a handful of super rich and unimaginably powerful people that have it all - they will pay for their own personal doctors, staff, security and be ruling, until the natural resources run out.
Pretty much it - unless some sort of social control takes over - but the 1% won't want this as it will reduce their absolute power - they are already worried, just look at mainstream media for example - its absolutely bonkers, but they are going all out to reserve their personal wealth.
Anyway went off on a tangent there, but in a nutshell its basically true - at its core, what will happen maybe up and down, but it will follow that general trend.
Sure there will be people on here thinking I need a tin foil hat, but if in general people can't see what's happening or at least see a trend, then stupidity is more rife than I had imagined.
The planet has a limited number of resources - as time goes on, the rich will try and control that for them until its all gone.

Ummm because we are destroying their habitat.
Is the rise in numbers visiting food banks due to poverty or because there are more food banks and they give food away for free?

Precisely. Hence why fewer humans and more care for them would be beneficial.
I'd like to share a revelation I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to another area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague, and we are the cure.
