Football 5th-6th Feb 2011 **SPOILERS**

Liverpool didn't deserve to win, they capitalised well on a defensive error but didn't threaten at all for most of the match. They did defend well though. Chelsea lacked creativity but were denied a clear penalty. A draw would have been a fair result.

Torres was not good and neither was drogba. Luiz looked good for the time he was on.

What about the sitter Maxi missed which was created by good play?

We created more clear, better chances than Chelsea, and if you don't take your chances you aren't going to win, we deserved to win and we did.

And Aurelio's chance. We had the 2 clearest chances of the game by far. I don't even think Chelsea had a decent chance all game; a couple of off-balance headers from Ivanovic that didn't threaten and Malouda's shot from a near impossible angle is about the best they come up with.

Yeah.

Sad thing is though, Torres i highly doubt will flop for Chelsea and it will hurt when he actually starts banging them in for them. Although he didn't look very interested today at all, but i can imagine watching him in a month or two will have a **** feeling.

Not really suprised at the result, Liverpool always pull the finger out on the big occasion (then lose at home to Wolves but that's another thread). Just shocked at how bad Torres was, but not sure whether it was position or nerves.

And really ****ing hate Carragher but what defending from the man.

Fixed that for you.

That was quite a decent debut for one of our big new signings.
He looked enthusiastic, energetic and comfortable on the ball, looks two footed too which is always a plus point.
The other one (the no.9) looked a bit bewildered by it all but I guess that's what happens when you step up to a top level side, I'm sure he'll come good though when he settles in.
That game had 0-0 all over it from the start and it was always going to be a mistake which settled it if there was going to be a goal.
Liverpool didn't really push for much and looked like they'd be very happy with a draw and Chelsea still lack genius when teams park the bus, oh well.

Said this to friend who supports Chelsea, i cant see Torres working in Chelsea current set up he never plays as good with a partner than he does on his own so unless Drogs/Anelka move aside which they wont do happily its going to take Torres allot more time to adjust

Its mainly same players now? So no Roy was just a failure at liverpool, + he brought in the crap i.e Konchesky.

He also bought Merieles (sp?) who is hte main reason you won the last four games

Liverpool were good-ish (for an away team), but Chelsea were plainly awful (1 shot on target for the whole game?) - admittedly r5l commentary isnt great to go off, but without knowing who the teams were, you would struggle to know the Champions or the home team

Its not too much of a leap to think Liverpool could knock Chelsea out of the CL spots by the end of the season

(I dont know how "nailed on" the Chelsea claim for a penalty late on was)

It hasnt been such a bad weekend for Man Utd after all
