Football and the Coronavirus

The PL is a different kettle of fish to leagues like that.

On the off chance it does happen though, if the PL is voided how will the Liverpool fans on here take it? If it was my team I would be gutted and I think it would make me fall out of love with the sport a little even though I know there's more to life than football and peoples health and well-being come first.

The season hasn't been voided. They've not named a champion as two teams are level on points, Belgium on the other hand did name a Brugge as champions. The current league positions still stand. The biggest thing from the Dutch League is that they're not promoting any sides - I can't imagine that would happen in the PL.

how is that any different to it being voided :confused:
Because voiding the season would mean the current seasons standings wouldn't apply. The current standings do apply, Ajax have finished the season in 1st place and will qualify for next seasons CL the same as had the season been completed. They've taken the decision not to award the title or relegate anybody as it would be a legal minefield with positions at the top and bottom of the table so close. In Belgium, where Brugge were well clear, they've been named champions. I've not paid too much attention but from what I understand the vote they had in Scotland also decided that if the League(s) can't be finished then PPG would apply to determine the final standings and included naming whoever was top as champions.

Netherlands leading the way.
The other leagues will follow now that the Dutch have voided the league, the premier league will follow suit but will be the last to do so with no champions and no relegation, I don’t even think the new season will start until September at the earliest

The Dutch aren't the first League to end, that was Belgium who have named Brugge as champions. The Scottish League have already determined that the current leaders will be named champions if the season cannot be finished too. Leagues that have no clear leader might follow the Dutch but as yet any League with clear leaders have named them champions if the League cannot be finished.

Relegation definitely won't happen and promotion is up in the air. League's like the Dutch don't have a huge tv contract that lower league sides will fight to the death over. My bet would be the PL being expanded to 22 clubs, if the season isn't finished.

edit: and for those that don't realise, the Dutch ended their season because the Dutch government banned sport until the start of September, with UEFA currently aiming to end the season (including CL/EL) by the end of August. It wasn't possible for the Dutch season to finish.

If the mask comes off, play stops immediately. And masks will be changed every 15 mins.

Ball boys will be dipped in dettel everytime they handle the ball.
For some reason I have the way Rambo was washed in First Blood in my head.
