Football Banter Thread

Apparently Petr Cech smashed his car straight into one of the pillars in the Emirates carpark on the way out of the game.

Should we be a little worried that our goalkeeper can't see a 3 wide concrete pillar?

It was probably down low at his near post.

The Football League just released the fixtures for the weekend's Championship in support of the Missing Type campaign. Without looking it up, which were the only team with their name completely intact?:p

QPR? Leeds? Huddersfield?

I'm guessing we can rule out QPR because its not their full name. One of the other two should work though?

Yeah it is Leeds United.

Huddersfield TOwn

It just popped up on my Twitter.

I actually had to think who they were for a second when I saw _urt_n _l_i_n:p

Policital messages at football matches is banned. Also how many of those with the Palestine flags were genuinely showing support rather than trying to wind up the opposition fans?

I'm sure there were some that have sympathy with Palestine but I suspect the majority were just trying to wind the oppositions fans up and that's one of the reasons why political messages are banned. It had the potential to cause trouble.

I have no idea of the context of the Ajax picture so I can't even guess why UEFA didn't take action. There's no rules preventing supporters from displaying national flags and Ajax do have strong Jewish links.

what's so bad about them waving palestine flags?

showing support for Palestinians, should be encouraged

Showing support for Palenstinians, or for their PLO buddies?

Hmm, I wonder which it could really be.

Why would a random team in Scotland care at all what is happening over there? There's only one real link, the picture tells you all you need to know.

Isn't it odd how they are happy to show solidarity with these people, yet they boo and disrupt minutes silences in the UK in support of our own soldiers. The only team's fans in Britain to do so.
