Football Banter Thread

I honestly think the 4th official should have a monitor that he can view incidents on. I think it will help with reducing the amount of diving, shirt pulling and commotion inside the box. If a player knows full well it can be reviewed on camera by the official they will think twice before doing it.

A system similar to American football could work well, each team has a limited number of 'appeals' that the captain or manager can use to appeal a decision and have it reviewed by the 4th official.

As for the argument of it taking time, stopping the flow of play or the like. It would take 2~ minutes for the 4th official to review an incident and walkie talkie it to the ref. The time taken can be added at the end as extra time. The flow of play is already broken when players surround the referee and have an argument with each other.

Wasn't entirely sure where to put this.

The Forth Road Bridge has reopened after a lorry which overturned in high winds was safely removed.

Although not funny in itself, it did cause several Brechin City FC players and manager to be delayed for tonights 7.45pm kick off against Airdrie at Glebe Park tonight. Airdrie are one of two full time teams in the Scottish League 1 and they turned up in plenty of time. I think it was about 8 players for Brechin made it before the original kick off but both clubs and officials were happy to postpone if the League agreed.......they did not and kick off was delayed until 8.45pm. In reality it was closer to 8.55 that the game kicked off and finished just before 10.45pm. The match finished Part time Brechin City 3, Full time Airdrieonians 0

The Cowdenbeath v Elgin game was also delayed but not as long as our match was. It was a bit of a first for everyone to have kick off delayed for over an hour.

I see Sky have separated Carragher and Rednapp for this game, maybe because of this :p

it maybe have been posted on here before, not sure where i saw it.

Duncan Castles propaganda machine showing no signs of slowing down. There are times when I honestly believe he's not really a journalist and just winding everyone up.
