Football Banter Thread

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...lay-carlo-ancelotti-tells-evertons-alex-iwobi

Standard passive-aggressive post on Insta but Carlo way too cool for this punk, I wonder if Iwobi will sheepishly knock on his door for a chat or carry on as he is. Perhaps Ancelloti needs to hear some of his wisdom, then he might be able to make a success of management. It won't be long now before Iwobi has scored as many top flight goals for Everton as he has CL winners medals after all. Or maybe if Iwobi learned how to actually pass a football it might help his cause, I've not seen much of him lately but at Arsenal he was not bad running with the ball at players but truly ABYSMAL at passing (would look poor in the Championship), would give the ball away so much.

Unless Bale's been misquoted, it sounds like he's publicly admitted he used Spurs to get fit for the Euro's and never had any plan to stay after the season ends. How is it possible to get it so wrong every time he opens his mouth?

Bale doesn't seem to give that many ***** anymore. He has happily admitted that he doesn't care about playing for his club and that his priorities are Golf and Wales. Hes earned enough money to last a lifetime and is coming towards the end of his career anyway. Just a real shame that he didn't care more about football because he was such a good player and still is when he turns it on.

Some of the comments I've seen from Spurs fans are ridiculous, suggesting they felt betrayed by him leaving at the end of the season. Well news flash folks, he's on a season long loan! That's the whole point, you go somewhere for a set timeframe, then you go back where you were before. If Spurs wanted him long term then they should've signed him on a permanent deal. There might not even have been any option to extend his loan.

Same goes for 0degaard, all this talk about 'Arsenal should keep him next year', it's not just up to them. He might just be using it to get some game time and showcase his talents before returning to Madrid or seeking a move elsewhere. And that's absolute fair game, just because Arsenal have given him gametime doesn't mean he owes them some sort of debt of gratitude, it's just business.

This just about sums up modern football.

Player starts to go down before he realises that it was a ballboy who threw it and he can't get anyone sent off or carded.
