So the Ex Everton players arrested on suspicion of child sex offences is cleared and will face no further action.
Any reliable sources for that? Was he exhonerated or was it that they couldn't make the charges stick in court? If the former poor guy, missed internationals, ruined career, marriage etc. If he was guilty but got off on a technicality then that's slightly different. Context is everything.

BBC news said:
A Premier League footballer arrested on suspicion of child sex offences will face no further action, police said.

The player, who has not been identified, was arrested in 2021 and interviewed by officers before being released on bail.

Greater Manchester Police said the evidence in the case does not meet the threshold for prosecution.

The player has since left the Premier League club he was with at the time of his arrest.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "The 33-year-old man who was arrested in connection with an investigation opened in June 2021 will face no further action.

"The investigation team and Crown Prosecution Service have been working together and reached the decision that the evidence available at this time does not reach the threshold set out on the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Officers said they were "committed to investigating allegations to secure the best possible outcomes for all involved" and would "continue to work with partner agencies to ensure individuals are supported".

So said player has had his career ruined for "allegations" and following a lengthy time trawling through his life, and presumably every device and ISP log the guy had they concluded there wasn't enough evidence of any wrongdoing to go to court. What exactly was the nature of said offences meant to be? Just saying child sex offences is pretty broad.

Watched a bit of Football Focus today for the first time in ages. I wish they would separate the women's game from the men's(same on the website) it just doesn't work lumping it all together. Started showing highlights of ManUtd - Arsenal...what oh ok its a women's game, then breaking news Chelsea V Barcelona champions league, ah women's champions league.
Nothing wrong with having a women's game obviously but its of no interest to me and probably the majority. Just feels like its being forced.

Oh do get with the program - gender doesnt matter, both codes are equal, the BBC will burn in hell if it makes any distinction on air or website between the mens and womens game. If you need further awareness "education" watch the One Show for a couple of evenings.
