Glazzerz seem to be getting commercial deals every were, they still know man utd play football right? If only they showed the same zeal on footballing matters.
If that google+ idea does materialize then its going to trump #askcarrick for pure lol's
Sol Campbell's become a really annoying ****. He always seemed massively self obsessed while he was a player and now he's retired he just can't seem to deal with no longer being in the limelight so comes out with stuff like this.
Admitted there was a £40 million pound release clause that meant Arsenal could talk to Suarez but just didn't want to sell him so called their bluff
He also admitted he gambled on the fact they wouldn't take us to court which they didn't because they would've won and Suarez would more than likely be an Arsenal player.
I don't think he quite said that, certainly not the last part. He spoke at a conference and mentioned Suarez's clause and how Arsenal bid £40m + £1. He then went on to talk about how contracts in football are meaningless and players decide whether they go or not (citing Torres) and because of that, the club weren't willing to sell.
I think his mention of Suarez's clause has been taken too literal. Gordon Taylor mentioned in the summer that the clause was a starting point for negotiations to begin. My interpretation of what he said was that we weren't selling despite the whole player power thing rather than the clause.
edit: and Arsenal couldn't do anything. If anybody was to take legal action it would have had to be Suarez.
It is pretty obvious it isn't as simple as he made out, he is either doing it for a viewer base that doesn't really understand in the US, or rubbing salt in the wounds of a crap few weeks for Arsenal.
Either way the reactions I've seen on some places is brilliant, apparently we should be getting points deducted
Has poor old Sol got a gambling problem or something?
After all, Spurs invested 9 years in him and he repaid them by walking out to their closest rivals for, if I remember correctly, a £6m signing on fee and £80K a week. And that was in 2001.
Now he has to peddle a few books. He strikes me as a sad, bitter character now.
