It was on telly though so some folk would stay and watch it at home rather than pay 40+ quid for a ticket.......its what happens when you have plastic fans who only 'love the club' when they've bought their way to the top ;)

I'm going to bite :)

We don't "want" to expand the stadium, we "are" expanding the stadium (to 60k). Ticket prices have been forced upwards as a consequence of FFP.

A club has to be self sufficient, with a huge focus on the balance sheet now and the unintended result of that is that fans pay more to maximise revenue.

At circa £45 for a midweek group game that is already on TV I can understand why some fans stayed away. Especially when City have historically had very reasonable prices on their tickets. This season it was possible to get a season ticket for £299, the cheapest in the Premier League to watch the champions. When you are not used to paying over the odds it can come as a shock.

City fans are not fickle. We averaged 28k in the 98-99 season in Division Two FFS! The volume of fans when we were promoted at Ewood Park in 2000 was unreal and something I will never experience at an away match again. I've been through highs and lows with them. More lows than highs in my lifetime so far but that is quickly changing.

If anything the majority of City fans are not plastic and so the stadium was not filled with people attending for their first and only time, like you get at one or two clubs that have a plethora of artificial supporters.

Damn, I bit hard!

I've heard everything now.

Blame FFP then take it out on the fans.

What's fair about the biggest clubs being allowed to spend more than everybod else, making it nigh on impossible for smaller clubs to achieve anything?

FFP has one purpose, to protect/make it cheaper for the biggest clubs to remain at the top table.

Wasn't sure what thread to put it in, Ozil managed to hurt himself and is ruled out for up to three months..... yay Arsenal. Ozil despite being god awful was used too much and gets injured. If only there was some kind of warning this could happen, maybe like when we used him too much with no rests last year and he got injured perhaps?

Same old crap with Arsenal, we had a particularly busy period coming up with cl matches, knowing the players would be going on international duty as well and busy run straight back from international break so resting Ozil against say Villa, or being subbed earlier in some games. He's rarely subbed by Wenger and very rarely the first off.

Real madrid frequently rested him and rarely played him for longer than 65-70mins. Arsenal play him almost every game and for 90mins in almost every appearance and he gets two injuries in the space of a year and even him(inconsistent in general) his form has gone to crap.

Wrexham are 150 years old today. :) :)
