It's amazing what actually trying to win games does for fans... it's almost like football is a form of entertainment and when the team is better to watch the fans want to watch them more.

More fans wanting to watch, more fans actually excited to watch the team, more fans buying shirts.

But it's all good, Sociedad, one of the most exciting teams in La Liga.... Moyes may be taking over :(

To be fair to him though, Allardyce was guilty of that as well to some degree and only changed his philosophy when the board told him to play better football or be sacked next season lol.

Yup, I think that is a fundamental problem, potentially Moyes could be a good manager playing good attacking football... if you don't try you'll never know. Alladyce as you say was basically dragged kicking and screaming to manager the team of players he currently has with it being heavily suggested that several of the attacking players they bought were basically bought for the team and fat Sam told attack, use those players, or be gone pretty damn soon.


I think a huge reason that a lot of the top successful managers today start at top clubs, Guardiola, Mourinho, etc. If you start managing Grimsby, with crap players and no money you get into that don't lose mind set and when you get a team with real money and the option to play attacking football and try and win the manager is already set in his ways. Alladyce and Moyes fit into that category IMHO and Alladyce would have continued his small team mentality forever if he was given the choice.
