Football Fixtures 20-21st September *Spoilers*

Berbatov is just another panic buy by Fergie, how many players did they get knocked back by in the summer then signed Berbatov in the last few hours.

You do know you cant actually compare prices payed for players really anymore, with the inflated transfer fees due to new ownerships & new TV deals?
Berba was overpriced, but 15mil? I think not.

Yes you can, to an extent.

Bent, Berbatov, Keane, all hugely overpriced.

The only realistic 20 odd million pound player that has been bought in the past 2 seasons is Torres.
Berbatov is not a great player, never has been a great player never will be a great player.

BBC reporting that Deco will be out for 2 weeks and Carvalho will be out for a month. Both big blows for Chelsea.

Assuming they actually make those time scales Deco won't really miss any big games and Carvalho will be back by the time we play Liverpool which with all due respect should be the only real test in the next month.
Alex had a blinder yesterday too so there's no reason to worry about Riccy missing for a while:)

sigh.....

picard-facepalm

I was impressed by that Alex yesterday. I think he took some lessons from JT by launching himself in front of that shot! Looked like it hurt lol

Pompey were dire. Not to take anything away from City but the defending was virtually non existent, Pompey just looked like they couldn't be bothered.

Anway, put a top 4 team in front of City and then we'll see how good they are!

I can't understand, in the slightest the fight over Kaboul over summer. Did sunderland, villa and Pompy not watch him play at all last year? To be fair Spurs were poor but Kaboul and Chimbonda were at fault for soooo many goals it was a joke, kaboul is just a massive liability, Campbell is a nutjob who just isn't mentally up to top class football all the time, still constantly makes mistakes, JOhnson has been better last year but still massively mistake prone and frequently has those embarassingly bad games, Distin is really the only semi solid defender they have. Hilarious that people were talking about them being good defensively last year when they frequently conceded, they just scored a lot then sold their top scorer. Though Defoe is good, Benjani + Defoe would be much much better than Defoe and now Crouch.

But the same can be said for Arsenal so far, Fulham played by far the best of the teams we've faced so far. Blackburn were a joke, Bolton woeful. These clubs we may have had a hard time beating in the past, but Bolton were a top 8 club also at the time, they are NOT a top 8 club now and thats the difference. Will have to see how Denilson as a defensive midfielder holds up against Man U, chelski, pool, spurs(i jest :p ) Villa and the better teams. we've potentially played 4 relegation strugglers already, maybe 5. Newcastle have a semi decent team when fit, most are injury prone though, the clubs in turmoil, West Brom, always a candidate to go down, Fulham should have more than enough quality to stay up and are playing well but might get dragged down. blackburn have lost players, losing form, terrible manager and were already much worse last year than the year before, and Bolton, beaten stoke, and thats it this year, their other point came from a draw to West Brom, and lost to fulham, us and Newcastle. We've been tested once so far, to fulham, and lost.

City took 6 points off Man United, they still have the same players even better ones and a decent manager.

Yet Man Utd have a decent record against Hughes - so it could go either way (just like one or two goals that City scored against Utd relying on ricochets etc)
