as someone said above - usual great game and hours just disappear!

However the disallowed goals is ridiculous. I have just had 14 goals disallowed in my last 12 games! it's way more than the average.

still another cracking FM game! - ho hum another 4 hour session has come and gone!

I haven't played a new PC game in ages (can't really count Theme Hospital ) but really tempted to pick this up, love the FM series Even if they do ruin my sleep pattern.

Playing as Norwich right now, hard team to start off as, have had a reshuffle of tactics and have got a nice squad with some added young players.

http://sortitoutsi.net/ is a good site. It'll likely be very busy in the first few days of a new FM release. There probably won't be that many FM08 graphics yet but the FM07 ones should work.

Should be an option at the beginning of the new game process. However do you have another database to use? The game comes with just one db, so it might detect that it only has one db and doesn't bother asking you. You might need to wait for a patch or a community db and install that to make FM08 recognise the presence of another db and give you the option to choose.

You get on their mailing list by emailing them, and if you are high enough profile they will ask, or you can request, some companies are easier than others to get on with (Nintendo are close to impossible due to them using the rather awful Cake Media to deal with PR. I can't wait till next year when it goes in house again)

Nacer Barazite is an absolute stunner for my norwich team, got him on the cheap from Arsenal and my god is he playing well.

Agreed! The amount of disallowed goals is silly.

I'm in my 3rd season with Tottenham, won the premiership in my 2nd season

There are a few in Tottenham under 18's at the start of the game that turn out quite good.

The editor has always been for editing the database the game is made from. You can't edit the game. So you can move a player from one club to another, make him hate his current club and love yours or improve or worsen his stats.

So by default you only have the original FM08 database and the game doesn't let you choose a database as you only have one. But if you edit the original one and save it as a new database the game lets you choose then?

Nacer Barazite bought 70k from arsenal, worth 900k after 2/3 of a season. Quality player. Unfortunately if I do end up selling him 45% goes back to the gunners

Theres a few cheeky brazilians that turn out to be awesome, off the top of my head I can only remember - Lulinha, Breno, David. Their prices range from 2-6 mil.

van der Vaart has been a gem for me though, can get him for 9mil at the start of the game and he's top class :x

my Dortmund game is going well!! the German Bundesliga is MUCH harder than it look,s teams like Leverkusen, Bayern, Werder, Hertha etc are all building good squads out there!

had to sell DEDE and Kehl @ start as i only had 300k to spend!

so i brought in 2 Brazilian leftbacks!

I've got Amauri (Palermo £11M) and Pandev (Lazio £13M) up front for me in my Arsenal game and they're a great strike partnership.

Other players:

Tomasso Rocchi is also worth a look from Lazio, about £11M (ST).
Montolivo from Fiorentina, £12M (MC).
Marcelo from Real Madrid, £5.5M buy-out clause (DL,ML).
Zaccardo from Palermo, £10M (DRC).

A nice cheap left midfielder I found was Leonardo from Ajax, can get him for about £1.4M.
