I don't think so, but I guess there are those people who think that buying players because he has a load of stats near to 20 is fun/realistic. That used to be fun in previous versions of CM, but in FM I have never ever pay any attention to coach reports on how players are performing in training, looked at goal scoring/assist tables before buying players, but much weight into scout reports before buying players. If I find a 16 year old who has never played a game but has very high stats, I sign him. It's just way to easy too do that. When you get a team full of regen super-stars, it's simply too easy. That's just my opinion though, and I know it won't change for a while at least, and I'll still get FM12 at release

I haven't played one of these properly since I think 2008 although I may have given 2009 a decent go. I found 2010 to be atrocious and although 2011 was an improvement, I'm either getting too old to enjoy them or something is seriously broken in the game somewhere and it puts me off.

They don't need to market it because they've little to no competition (no thanks FIFA Manager!) so they are able to keep costs down. For those who remember the days of CM 97/98 and the vast online community for patches, updates etc. it is quite painful when you see just how few active websites there are related to the series these days but the CM/FM split really didn't help us customers out too much as the years have passed.

The press conferences as mentioned earlier in this thread have been absolutely horrid since they were first implemented and simply get in the way.

Why don't you put attribute masking on then?

I still look at coach reports anyway Form > Stats

hmmm...........i have noticed they have all been different, and mostly improvements over the last 2 or 3.
i hope, like so many others, that they tedious press confrences are looked at.
there are a lot of niggles in FM11 (player/board interaction) but overall i thought it was a pretty good game.

They are getting better but I hate that it takes months to complete a few seasons, it needs to be quicker and there is no need for the sensible soccer graphics on the 3D match engine either, sack off the interviews rubbish with the same dull questions!!!

I can rattle a season off in 10 hours normally (thats on the old laptop that chugged a bit) - with the new rig im hoping for 6-8 hours, thats with around 14 nations and 100k players loaded.

I play the game with just commentary on super fast speed, get the Asst to do the interviews with the press, dont use scouts, dont do training and just use one tactic no matter what...normally not even making subs unless the team is tired/get an injury.

Training winds me up, I never change it, it just doesn't make any sense to me!

Then f course you have all these ridiculous formations that people use.

Training is never affected by what coaches you bring in or by the Assistant Manager surely it's what they are there for?

The fun is developing a team ie buy/sell and then playing multiple seasons to see how both my team and the leagues evolve.

I do read the odd bit of news but tbh I play the game as if it was CM97/98 OR 01/02... the classics, when your imagination played a huge part and although not always successful you could play a basic 4-4-2 and get results, without all this trequarista, false nine, tell your player when to have a dump 'bollards' that we have now.

I hate the fact that if I pick say Barcelona, put their best XI in a 4-4-2 that they will act like sunday league footballers wondering what to do, just because I didnt tell them where to cross it, or how hard to pass it... I mean its supposed to represent professional football, so at least give the players some intelligence :rolleyes:

- for example can you imagine Guardiola calling Messi into his office to say 'Leo id like you to chip the keeper in your one on ones, OK?' ... makes no sense, every player at every level will do whats best in the scenario, so the instructions are pathetic especially when taken at that high a level, its just OTT.

Yeah I recently went back to CM 01/02 as it's a free download and with Januarys update it got me hooked, I doubt FM will ever do that to me.

Do you not find the press conferences and interviews a waste of time, the Assistant manager seems to upset everyone over time (no matter who he is or what his abilities are) it just needs speeding up as well
