Football manager 2016

I have almost 1000 but it's left running in the background quite a lot. In any case, the amount of hours I get from the cost of the game more than justifies buying it every year, even if the changes arent that drastic!

Can't wait for this, even if it isn't a great leap forward it will be another 500+ hour challenge! My favourite game since I think 1991, the first one whenever it was, remember taking it off the shelf all excited because I had hoped for a game like this since Football Manager on the Spectrum. Loved Championship Manager Italia too.

Oh how far it has come, and how lucky all we are now having such an incredible Football Management game, yeah with flaws but nothing is perfect.

Yeah, about 75% for me too, but having a MacBook and watching YouTube/Netflix or NowTV allows me to multitask less, which is great unless I watch something brilliant that draws me away from FM like Gotham on Netflix, loved that show.

Stopped playing with FM 2013 due to the broken transfer system. AI teams getting players dirt cheap whilst always demanding Ronaldo sized transfer fees for mediocre players got boring fast.

I'm not sure if it was addressed in later releases, but if it has, or will be, I'd definitely check out 2016.

I stopped playing after FM '09 I think it was due to how slowly SI were improving the game.

Tried the FM '15 demo four an hour and didn't like it. A few months later bought the game cheaply anyway.

Enjoyed it initially until you find the flaws.

This is the case for young players, particularly if they're at clubs with the same nationality as the player. Like Newcastle going for a 4 star potential at Chelsea, but current level 1 star they could and usually do ask for like 40million, which is daft. I do hope they sort that nonsense out.

That is the other thing, clubs demanding absolutely stupid fees for players. Juventus wanted £140m for Vidal. Even youngsters valued at like £1-2 million at tiny clubs I've been quoted world record fees, it's so unrealistic. I tried to buy Sinan Kurt from Bayern and they actually quoted me £105m for a 18 year old valued at £1.5m.

Yeah it is a very big problem, not realistic and certainly doesn't add anything positive to the game.

I actually think the buying and selling system works reasonably well. The money goes through the roof only when you become a top reputation club, or when you are seen as a major competitor. The best way to buy players is at 15/16/17. I've got a dozen young players in my Under 21s. Most of them are potential world class. The most expensive was £8.5 million, the cheapest was £10k :D I think it is fairly realistic actually. What about this young 19 young old to Man U for how much?

It's always a game I sink hundreds of hours into; but in the last few years I've never really felt the game moves forward with new features.

Like some have mentioned there are some annoying "features" the exorbitant fees demanded for U21 players who not played a game for the first team whilst you barely get valuation offers in return.

other than the create a club addition (removing the need to work your way around the editor) I can't see anything that shouts at me for this year's release.

Transfer negotiations could definitely be improved. So often you'll negotiate a starting bid for one of your players of say £10m up to £20m before talks break down...then a week or so later the same club comes back with a £10m offer.

Further additions and updates include staff shortlisting, improved manager and staff movement, revised board requests, a revamp of board confidence, more contextual team talks, fully updated competition rules & squad information, an improved financial module, improved AI transfers and team selection...

That's the stuff I'm interested in - presumably we'll get more detail in the coming weeks. I'm not bothered about the new game modes or the terrifying touchline manager model. Seriously, what on earth is going on here

For the first time since Championship Manager 2 was released in 1995, I missed a release when I didn't buy FM15. I did play the demo but got bored with seeing the same problems over and over. For the last few years, I think that they've been removing the fun from the game and adding in features which I don't think add anything to the football management experience - repetitive press conferences and teamtalks etc.. I know some people like them, but I don't. The main thing that the game suffers from though is the poor AI. Whether it's match AI or just general computer team AI, it's just poor. The problem is that AI is probably the hardest thing to code, and every single-player game that I've played suffers more from poor AI than any other issue. For FM, they seem more interested in continually adding extra features rather than fixing this which is understandable in a sense, as I can imagine that getting AI to behave in a manner that is anyway realistic, is very complex. Anyway, I hope FM16 does improve on FM15 and make the game more fun and less tedious, then I might get it :).
