Football manager 2016

Their morale generally stays quite high, only very rarely have i seen it drop to okay. They play ok though, that's the problem, it's just scoring goals that they seem to struggle with.

To add insult to injury, I spent £90m on a winger at the start of the season but he doesn't join until the end of the season, annoying. And the board cancelled a seperate £100m transfer for an unbelievable striker. FWIW, my transfer budget at taht point was £120m (after the £90m one had already gone through and been deducted)

A low point of the season was drawing 0-0 to bottom of the league, having missed 2 penalties..

I am getting runs like that too with Spurs. Kane will score 10 in 6 games then not score for another 8.

I think I need to work on helping him out through tactics, finding out what helps him more often.

Just drawn with a team down in 15th, I had 29 shots, hit the woodwork 3 times, 3 clear cut chances, 3 half chances, scored 1 goal. They had 1 clear cut chance, 9 shots, and obviously, also 1 goal.

Pathetic. That was about 60 minutes with 10 men too :(

Disclaimer - I'm not on Shoot on Sight

INTER MILAN HAVE DONE THE DOUBLE DOUBLE!!!!!!!!!!

Unbelievable scenes!

Unfortuantely, not what you're thinking; I have missed 2 penalties (2 different takers each time) In two different games this season.

Incredible.FWIW, i won this game 1-0, again requiring 3 clear cut chances, and 3 half chances..3 Points clear with 5 games left...

EDIT: Finished as champions :) 7 points clear with one game to go :)

Quick question guys, prior to a game, opposition instructions, if you set these in tactics do they automatically get applied when a game starts? I've noticed when I get to a game and go through the steps of opposition instructions, team talks etc that what I've set for tight marking, show onto weak foot etc isn't actually showing?

If you want specific instructions then you set them every match prior to a game. If you want a more generic set of instructions you set them in the tactics screen and they are followed every match.

If you want your assistant manager to manage these instructions, and for him to set the instructions so you don't need to you need to make sure he is tactically aware. My Assistant Manager has a tactical of 13.

Cheers! I started playing this again after acquiring a data update, Newcastle in the Championship was ludicriously easy, finished 7th and 5th respectively in the following PL seasons. Starting to crave a new challenge...

After getting into 2033, with a striker who became the worlds leading international goal scorer, the top Premier League goal scorer (And set the PL record at 42 goals in the league in a season!) and Middlesbrough's all time leading goal scorer, I uninstalled and deleted my save.

I was too God damn invested, he was approaching 33 and I didn't know how long I could keep it going. My English RB had just reached 34 and his attributes jumped off a cliff (He was my first regen in my own Academy).

I was spending like 70M to get any kind of player too, the money goes stupid.

Unfortunately with Middlesbrough I seem to keep breaking the club, they go in debt and get bought out, and so on and so on :p

I developed so many world class England players and England still couldn't win anything. My midfield was soooo strong. It got almost impossible to buy any English quality. Clubs wanted transfer records for players who would be warming my bench too.

I feel your pain, I am very much in the same predicament whenever I get really into a save. Almost every PL team that I start to win with ends up like this, even when I start out at the very bottom of the pile and work my way up. Mind you, it takes a long time to get there.

In one of my best PL saves my best striker who was world class and some was netting 60 goals on average per season :D No club could afford his talent, even when I had silly offers. Likewise I could not buy anyone. Even 15 year old regens were costing £10 million upwards. It felt quite ridiculous to be honest, but I don't know if this is realistic or not. In the end I would just buy a handful of young players and keep them in my under 21's. I would train them as well as my coaches and facilities would allow and would use them in my first team as soon as they were ready. It was the only way I could build a fresh squad. Even mediocre players would cost silly money by this time. It's one aspect of the game I do not like to be honest.

I'm now managing MK Dons, in the Champs. But I'm really struggling with debt. I am about £4 million in the red, and have already survived a takeover. The money that these teams swallow up is incredible.

Yep same problem here. I'm in 2028 now I think and the prices are insane, I literally only buy u21s now and train them myself no older player with the talent I need in my squad is affordable. Some how Spurs are the richest club in the world by a long long way about half a billion ahead of Barca the whole economy ingame has gone nuts - perhaps it's predicting something for the future in real life too!

lol.. Do you have the editor? If so, check them out. See if they have a sugar daddy, and see how much money they actually have. I've never heard of a club being that much richer than Barca unless they are winning everything? I've often gone over 2028 too. A lot of things change, but the consistency of the majority of the main clubs is pretty accurate I'd say. The big clubs are still in the PL in my save. There are one or two novelties but a lot of it is from my own doing. I got fired from Kilmarnock right in the first few seasons, but they now consistently finish in the top 3 in the SPL. I built them up with a cracking squad, even though my tactics failed miserably I see them doing much better themselves :D

Wondering if someone can help. I'm not familiar with Football Manager but I've been asked to look into why the game is so laggy, mainly during a match.

Looking at the specs of the laptop, I can't see why it should have difficulty running it. Win 10, i5, Nvidia 940M, 12GB RAM.

Is it your laptop or a friend's/member of the family? Have you tried running FM in the classic 2D match engine mode to see if that helps with the lagginess.

Are there any other programs running whilst FM is being played? Such as antivirus, torrent clients etc?

Laggy in what way? Any hard drive issues with anything else maybe? Spec seams more than good enough to not have any issues.
