For Honor Beta Codes

must dig out the trusty Xbox360 controller - had a blast last night using KB/M and got royally pumped by the AI!
seems like a damn fine game though from what I played - and looks awesome. ran very smooth too considering it's still in Beta. plenty of AAA titles don't play as smooth on full release

Yep again. This is probably the worst stability Beta server wise I have tried tbh.

Edit:

It was meant to be for the 90mb update but clearly hasn't finished.

Edit 2: Even their forums are crashing and it can't be my internet cause the other 6 tabs open on forums etc are fine and loading. I don't think I will be buying this because of it being P2P in honesty.

Forums were not working here either last I checked.

I just want to try out 4v4 before the beta ends. Fair enough it's a beta, but it's 2 weeks or so to retail and it's not even just minor bugs, it's just broken. Doesn't fill me with confidence that the retail release won't have connectivity issues.

Got into the game. Tried the 4v4 didn't like the way it played. The idea is good but it still feels slow and really not what I was expecting. Will be giving this game a miss which is a shame cause I like the idea.

It actually would have worked better to be more arcady like Dynasty Warriors style. It is a 50/50 mix between detailed combat and arcady that just doesn't work.

Just had my first game online. I got dominated by someone who clearly knew more about this game than me :p

The amount of AI doesn't really make the map feel fuller. Still feels a little empty to me.

Overall it's a good concept but it isn't anything I'd be jumping to play right now.

So after a few more games, it's graphically nice to look at and something I'd probably buy on sale.

When you view scoreboard I wish games would also tell you the map you are playing on. I like Sanctuary Bridge map, feels really fun (4v4). I don't like how you can't sprint towards an enemy while locked on. Constantly having to ctrl. Also you can't really turn in guard mode when fighting the AI. I can imagine lots of people will be ganged up on as most just run off on their own.

Without the abilities, I think this game could be something. But abilities have just become the norm now.

It's a real shame be a use I like the game a lot, but by God p2p was a colossal mistake. Weirdly the alpha was quite a lot better stability wise, and I can't see what they've changed since then that might have broken it so badly.

I must be missing something, because people online are talking about it having some super advanced combat system and moves that are really hard to master, but to me after playing the beta for a while it feels like most the time you're smashing a single button and as long as you have your blocks in sync, then you'll win the fight.

Like I said, perhaps I'm missing something, because it just feels extremely repetitive and not that fun. Looks awesome and the maps are cool, but a 60 Euro title? No thanks

Played since alpha and whilst it's good fun in stints I'm not convinced by its longevity outside of grinding gear...much like the division. Had it preordered for a while but cancelled it last week.

Same here, I think I've had my fill of For Honor, here's hoping Mordhau will fulfill my need for a Medieval multiplayer Hack 'n' Slash.

Well I have ordered the game, if you think it's just smash one attack and block then you are not learning the game or playing terrible players.

Learn the mechanics properly and play against good players and you will see it's more advanced than you think. No it's not a street fighter etc but the game comes to its own in 1v1 and 2v2 with decent players. I have played with 5 friends and we have all got a lot better over the weekend, 4v4 is a good way to grind exp thats it.

There's no longevity to this game at all, and also P2P connection is laughable. It's fun, but I'd struggle to spend more than £15 on it.

I started to enjoy the 4v4 more yesterday as I learnt to balance tactics and gameplay with fighting the other players in duals. However it still lacked certain things such as the real waves of enemies across the map. Considering the height to the maps it felt like you were almost forced to play at one level because of the way B was always where the foot soldiers were.

It needed more dynamics too it. The points to capture are random areas with no gain and often it felt like a time killer to go capture than anything else. If by capturing a guard tower you unlock the gate to move through as the attacker and then at the other end of the map you are unlocking a section where you can have additional reinforcements come through would be more interesting.

Having spawn points A,B & C and working together as a team to get to different areas would be good. It may be that you can then capture a static catapult and fire it back at the enemy gate that you have to destroy to get to zone C that neither are attacking or defending until doing so.

It needs to have defenders able to rain down arrows if you haven't captured the walls to the castle. It could have the ability to cut the chain/rope that holds a gate open and upon doing so would force the enemy to funnel through the map into an ambush.

Going onto the fighting, the defence stances still feel sluggish to respond and depending on the P2P connection would depend how well you could react to the enemy. Dedicated servers were needed on this front with a high tick rate I feel. The millisecond delays caused issues let along the longer.

I was finding that I was being hit by the enemy even though I had the guard up because the tick rate in the P2P was so bad.

So yeah I give it a 5/10. I will pick it up when it's £5 in a year if it's still about then at all and not forgotten.

i agree, I find the fighting mechanics pretty deep and rewarding, I don't find it a hack and slash at all! I loved the beta and will defo be buying this game :)
