When you read the title, did you think I was trying to sell an actual 360, or just the box for one?

I've acquired an xbox 360 box, it's useless to me and I want to Ebay it. I'll be completely honest in the description but if someone misinterprets it and pays over the odds for an empty box, that's their problem.


What Would GDesus Do?
 
i never see a problem with this tbh, if you clearly state thats what your selling and someone over pays its there fault.

Also i know quite a few people who've needed an original box for something, even i have once before so its not unusual to sell
 
I think you would be a scammer if you word it like that
if you do get ahead and do it, make sure you put in caps

THIS IS JUST A BOX AND NOT THE CONSOLE ITSELF
 
Well obviously what you're aiming to do is dishonest, you want someone to think you're selling an xbox 360 system and bid accordingly. I wouldnt bother to be honest.

Just advertise it, no doubt though a keyboard justice warrior on here will notify whoever (if) bids on it thinking it's an Xbox 360.

Oh and I noticed you meant box, since you said box, anyone who doesn't desrves to pay over the odds.
 
Depends, unless you're very specific about what it was it could be construed that you're selling it with the intent of decepting someone. So what I mean is, dont mention the console aspect at all, make it very clear it is the packaging.
 
Say that as the description, only take pictures of the box. Technically you're not misrepresenting it, though I bet you people will think it's the actual XBox.
 
Because you have the words "Core System" in there on first glance I'd have expected a full system included. Also people will probably not tend to notice the second "box" in the title.

I'd probably chuck it away because I don't have a use for it but don't let that stop you selling it, someone may have thrown theirs away and want a replacement box for their console.

Core system is a different box to the Premium though, so its kinda needed
 
You're intent is to scam people lets be honest here, its low and its slimey, whether you make the advert as accurate as you possibly could its intent in the end is mislead people into bidding for something completely different.

Obviously not read many of Tru's posts :p I don't think he would intentionally try to scam someone.

The description is accurate so I don't see a problem, if someone doesnt read it properly it is their fault for not paying attention. If I was about to part with £150+ for something I would read very carefully.
 
You can use that title just fine. it does, in fact, describe the jist of waht you're selling. You need to make it VERY clear in the description that it's just the box. Feel free to use all the caps, underlined, and bold text you need. If someone shells out al that dough without reading the description at all perhaps they deserve an empty box.

If there too dumb to read, then they deserve an empty box!

he's doing a perfectly legit sale...

It's down to the buyers brain in the end!
