Cheeky barstewards.
There's no intention to scam here, I'll make it clear im selling a box, there will be no pictures or description of the console itself and the title will be exactly what it is on this thread. Buy it now will be a whopping £170.

If there's no intention to scam then why make the buy it now price £170 (which implies more than just a box)? And why not just change the title to 'Xbox 360 Core Pack - BOX ONLY' or something?

TBH I find the thing most annoying about your thread is that you're trying to say I will sell the box with no intention of scamming anybody, and yet you make it unclear (or less clear than it could be) in your proposed title and buy it now price. So you're not only trying to decieve people, you're trying to pretend that it's not really deception. In some ways It'd be more honest if you just came on here and asked what the best way to word it in order to con people was.

read title, first thing i was going to do was moan that its not in the MM :o
didn't notice the word "box" first time though... and i've had to stop my girlfriend from buying crap off ebay before because she didn't read it properly.

if people don't make sure they know what they're buying... then its their fault.

you wouldn't sign a contract that gave you £1,000,000 without reading the fine print first would you?
what if the fine print said something like, we get to kill everyone you love... or you have to pay us £10,000,000 back in two years time?

as long as you clearly state its a box, its fine by me.
if they dont know what they're buying, it's their own problem

Thats no problem if you are willing to refund anyone who buys it mistakenly. Also calling it a cardboard box would be more accurate.

It's not even original. This lame scam has been around for years. Usually pops up each time a popular entertainment product is released.

ebay have pulled the auction.. I reported it earlier and I'm sure I wasn't the only one :)

Sorry Ms Poppins, but it was pulled because I said the lucky idiot could pay with cash. It will be re-listed shortly.

I can't understand the logic at all. no one in the world would intentionally spend £170 on a cardboard box. So what's the point in selling it if you're going to do that? Anyone making an "XBOX Box" advert is deliberately intending to mislead people. I don't know what the laws are about that sort of thing but it's completely morally wrong. My opinion is that Ebay should swiftly start banning people who intentionally mislead people by whatever method.

you truly are a hero. give yourself a pat on the back, that is, if you'd feel it through your cape of justice.

Could they claim that you misrepresented the item, should it not prove haunted?

a ghost/spirit may present itself to whomever it selects.

my trousers are haunted, but only very few lucky people get to see the demon that resides within.

I hope not, and I'm willing to take it to the highest court in the land should they try it.

So is the bidder someone you know (perhaps your second account) or are you really going to sell an empty box for £70?
Not that's any of your business, but I've contacted the buyer to ensure he knows what he's bought. I've grown tired of your persistant cantankery.

Ah sorry mate, if I get another one, you're the first in line. :)
