I see you like your pullups, wardie, me too.

About once a month we do 100 rep pullups in as many sets as it takes, its nice to challenge yourself :)

I'm still sore now, I've got doms in my biceps compareable to the first time you ever lift weights.

:D

Should be interesting when training tonight, going for a really intense chest session.

Doing more volume in my last two weeks before I go on holiday to really do so damage as i'll have two weeks of doing not a lot besides enjoying sun, steaks and beer.

When i go on my hols i'm usually looking for a gym after the first week, sad or what lol.

You've got the right idea though, enjoy the rest, and don't injure yourself before you go, you'll need to be in good nick for the ladies ;)

Haha!

I'm going with the girlfriend :o

No doubt i'll come back being able to do twice as many pressups as I can now after giving in to the urge.

Just resurrecting this thread to find out how many of you hit the goals you set yourself at the beginning of the year. I set myself the following goals:

Bench - 150K x 1
Squat - 200K x 1
Deadlift - 230K x 1

I managed:

Bench - 140K x 3 (Didn't attempt 150K but pretty confident I would've got it if I tried)
Squat - 210K x 1 (Failed an attempt at 220K)
Deadlift - Injured back

I'm pretty happy with the progress I've made over the last year and if it wasn't for my back injury I would've hit my deadlift target with ease.

In 2008 I'd like to get my bench up to around 170K, my squat to 240/250K and my deadlift up to 260K.

I went to Ireland for Christmas to my parents 2nd home and found myself doing exercises like deadlifts and squats in front of people. I think I have been hitting the gym too hard. Tommorow I find myself a real job and keep the gym as a hobbie. I would say I had post traumatic stress disorder with a deadly serious expression. Im not on drugs btw.

No need to be smart in my mid life crisis.:) I am glad I didnt pick up a drinking or smoking or crack habit. At least if I go mad it will have been worth it to be 'ard. DO u think I'm ard? Remember its me you are talking to?

TBH, I wouldn't have admitted that u didnt go through the same thing, "the shakes", cause IMO it makes me 'arder than you. Don't care what u look like, lift or weight its a mental thing I'm on about.

It might not seem like it to you but I see this as a turning point in my life. Guess what I mean cause I don't care to discuss it further.

Sorry if I should have taken more notice if the smiley but I didn't give it any weight when replying to your short, sharp uncaring response.

Worth getting injured? Bit of a strange question. It was only a slight muscle pull so I stopped training for a few weeks and didn't try and hit the target I set myself at the start of the year.

Went for an hour at lunchtime - I feel sooooo much better!!! :D Haven't trained since Dec 22nd, feels like a lifetime ago.

Did a mega-hyper-supersets of deadlift/bentover row/clean&press/front squat/bench for 12reps per move. Then walking lunges/calf raises/weighted cruches. Finished with biceps curls/over head tricep press/DB shrugs. The sweat was pouring off me and my recovery was rubbish but the endorphins felt really good ;) :D

Your post further up (to which Chong replied) is really hard to understand. I definitely thought you were joking from the way its written.

This thread has been full of interesting, helpful replies. There are people here that help and are here to listen, but you continue to surprise me by the ignorance you so often put across.

Your posts make no sense what-so-ever.

Anyway, I'll place you ignore now.
