For the gym rats

It was amazing how much my whole body felt knackered. Im tempted to drop the weight to 50kg and then do as many reps of each exercise before changing to something else, but wont do power cleans as shoulders would be ****ed!

Overhead press
Back squat
DL
SLDL
*shrugs

if my hands can handle the shrugs then im game. dont want to use straps as they will be tight for quite some time.

My Pulse arrived from MP today :D I get fatigued after work(builder) and i feel it when i'm lifting, so i thought i'd give Pulse a go.
Tbh i'm still buzzing a little now, :D really felt focused and the weight didn't feel as heavy, witch helped me push that bit more, wheres as normaly i'd be nackerd by then. :D
Struggled a little towards the end, but being of from the gym for a week due to man flu!

Had a bit of a crazy session on Saturday, although i'm supposed to be doing HIT I had a slightly stiff lower back so didn't want to do any deads or anything that would hit it really. Went with higher volume and a couple of easy one arm rows to warm-up..

One Arm DB Row - Warmup

20x10KG
10x20KG

Wide Grip Pull Up

8xBodyweight
8xBodyweight
6xBodyweight
6xBodyweight
8xBodyweight
5xBodyweight
6xBodyweight
8xBodyweight
6xBodyweight
5xBodyweight

I've still got DOMS in my lats now ha-ha :D

It can be quite disheartening when you're doing wide grip, it's funny how much of a difference it makes compared to normal chins (I can get at least 20KG on a belt with chins).

I think it's actually quite productive every so often to have a random session. I think it's good mentally and I can't see any harm physically in shocking your body with something vastly different to your usual routine.

I do wide-grip pullups, pretty hard stuff. Don't be dishearted, it's best not to add weight on this exercise and focus more on form.

I've done them for a while, I would have used more weight if I wasn't doing to many sets.

If I added some weight I would have had to wait longer between sets so I didn't bother, i'm still sore now and I did it Saturday afternoon!

:D

Sounds good =) I do them last on a back routine, by which point I have very little stregnth left. Something like 3 sets of 8-10 is what I managed, definitely a good mass builder.

wide grip pullups are hell, i can do 1-2 at best. Its funny though cos i have decent latissimi[sp?] but i think with the biceps so much more removed from the equation my 220lb bulk doesnt like going up and down too much

Your bodyweight will obviously be a big factor in how hard the pullup is. I weigh 180lbs so I'm pulling less, but on the other hand I do widegrip lat pulldown of 100kg for 8 reps.

I can do partial chins at 120kg! getting there slowly!!

I find wide grips hard too, though possibly I grip very wide and that I weigh over 210lbs I can do 3 sets of 10, 8, 6 reps which isn't too bad considering. Pull downs I find 100kg pretty straightforward for 10.

I think I must be strange then, as I find pull ups/dips/chins rather easy. Pull ups (real wide) I add about 15-20kg at the moment and rep on about 6-8 for 3 sets, when I already weigh 215lbs??
But then on the other hand you guys lift more than me (DL for instance) on other stuff

Palms facing away from you?

That's good going mate, everyone has some lifts they are good at and others which aren't up to the same standard :D
