For the gym rats

Just bought some WMS from myprotein.co.uk. Plan on mixing this with BCAAs and Creatine for a decent post-workout shake.

Recently got one of their mixchamp shakers (which is pretty good btw) and they sent me a sample of their raspberry flavoured whey protein. God it's rank, the unflavoured is easier to swallow! Can imagine the choc being nice though, but I don't know how they sweeten it / if it's healthy etc.

^ Might have to give that a try when I've finished this batch, as I'm sick of getting out the chocolate powder.

Anyway, ouch have a look at this! 'Tis cringe worthy and champions the use of barbells :p

never understood how that can happen people should sort their wrist strength out, that guy might have good legs but i bet his forearms are pants. Hopefully thats 3 plates aside and not 2 lol cos if its only 180 lbs thats a joke (im assuming its 270lbs).

Looks like he's using a false grip, either that or he thought he'd racked it. Crappy spotters though.

3rd week back in the gym this week, and strength has progressed every time. Its still not at all good but at least im using the 32.5kg dumbells for flat dumbell press for 6 reps, which is an increase of 10kg per dumbell.
Quite happy with progress, but due to this still lingering injury cant go flat out or do the major compounds. Just looking forward to when this injury has completely gone, so i can train at 100%.

was very limited in the gym tonight, both time i had and the time that it was..

did some chest work then thought, what the hell, thats ruin myself......

60kg on a barbell, went straight into the next exercise after each set

8 shoulder press
8 front squat
8 power cleans
8 romanian DLs

x2

i was ****ed, felt like my heart was where my brain should have been!

Nitro - you're coming back leaps and bounds mate! That's great stuff!

As for the youtube video, not convinced I'm afraid. :/

Morba, I know that feeling - I felt like that tonight too - heaaadruuuuuush!

Squats

12x100kg
12x110kg
10x120kg
8x130kg
6x140kg

DLs

12x100kg
10x120kg
8x130kg
8x140kg
8x160kg

P/cleans

12x60kg
12x70kg
10x80kg
6x90kg
4x100kg

Just a quick sesh today as I didn't really have the time so my rest periods were short.

I was a walking wall of sweat! I feel completely dead now - I'm hardly able to sit up :o

Thanks chaps :) Yeah powercleans are awesome, it's all about technique I've come to realise... now I for one don't bend deep enough as the weights get higher, and rely on timing and pure strength to get under the bar. I do a little "hop" too which is a bit of a cheat but still by the end of the sets I'm dripping with sweat and my body's crying :D

Recently I've found that for squats using a rack with some L-brackets (in abscence of a cage) is pretty good as I know when I've gone slightly below parallel as I can see the bar about to touch the support - it's easier than doing it with a spotter.

I still LOVE DLs. I really want to hit 200kg - I'll get there.

I haven't been doing much bench recently, so I need to try and re-introduce that into my routine. I'm finding DBs and in/declines much more involving.

Pretty pleased with my progress lately. Had a mega chest workout on Monday that consisted of me bench pressing 130kg x 7 followed by 140kg x 3.

Nice power cleans Freefaller.

It's true what you say about technique though, if you watch some of the olympic asian lifters, the vast majority of them look as if they don't even weight train. They can move very respectable weights just through technique and neural efficiency.

My tricep dips are up to 10x20KG now which i'm happy about :D

Arms are feeling it today though after I swapped close grip bench for some skullcrushers.

Chest has always been my strongest. I can DL 170kg for 4, which is good I suppose. But squat, oh my. I can manage 120kg for maybe 5? I can't squat though at the moment because my knee is playing up :(

Dude, have a google for crossfit... their workouts are BRUTAL!! and can be done on very limited equipment.

On Tuesday I supersetted 10xPullups (assisted cos i'm a lardass) with 20xSquats (with 60kg). No break between sets, resting to catch breath every now and then, just enough so that you can carry on. Did 5 sets of that (so 50 pulls and 100 squats total). Man that hurt!!
