My point is that "anime" just means "cartoons", it's got nothing to do with the content of it, at all. Anime isn't a word that describes cartoons about "frilly schoolgirl pants and enormous wobbling bosoms on young children", I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but it seems like you think that's all it is, when it in fact isn't, and that sort is just a very very small portion of it. There are so questionable cartoons that aren't of japanese origin, so you wouldn't call "anime", using their logic, people who like cartoons are also "closet paedos".

I certainly don't think this is as weird as the type who seek out the goriest, rapiest and sickest films to get some smug satisfaction of finding them funny or inoffesive. Now that is pretty weird. I do think a lot of anime comes accross as extremely pervy to be honest. At least when I watch porn, both the porn film and myself openly admit what's going on

Some guy once sent me a link to clips of Urotsukidoji - now that is really weird :/

Most of the stuff that makes it way over to the west is nothing of the sort, it's mainly stuff like Dragon Ball Z, Gundam Series, Naruto, and others of that type. The vast majority of anime never leaves Japan "officially" anyway.

I am all for free speech. I am all for you spend your money on what you want.

But I can't help but feel almost £2,000 for that doll is just TOO much money. £2,000 can get you some cutting edge technology gadget (as you know with your PCs) and I know you can say it is ART, and you can pay millions for art and it's still a block of glass, plastic, rock or some paint.

I just feel that for £2,000, they would put more thought into it than copy the character from an anime, make it 3ft tall and charge £2k. It is no more expensive to make than a £50 doll. I don't think it is value for money.

So in terms of R&D and construction costs I don't think it is worth £2k. In terms of rarity, I don't think its worth £2k either.

But it's your money I suppose and judging by your collection you clearly have some so I'll shut up now

I must just say that the amount I paid for the OP Doll was £800, not £2000. The one with two swords was indeed £2000 though.

The way I see it is that in 5 years the PC parts in the OP will probably be worth about £5, whereas they should still be the same price

Anyway I'm off to bed guys, night!
