Ford Focus RS500

Absolutely crazy money for what is an already overpriced car.

Looks quite nice in the pics mind, will reserve judgement til I see one (probably on the A127) on a typical dreary English day though!

Yes, the scoob looks like it was styled in Asia using rejects from the Kia factory.

Rejects from SAAB actually - hence its SAAB looking face.

Not enough power, not enough driven wheels for £35K.

Would I choose one over a hatch Impreza - not sure.

Wouldn't look twice at the ford if it was for a saloon Impreza (i.e. RB320)

It's just an 'exclusive' model to prise a bit more money out of the hands that have too much of it.

cars like that make me glad im not part of the fast ford party.

i like the focus and the focus ST, fast capable cars.

but pricetags like that make me feel like ford are maybe abusing the buyers a little too much. especially when you can buy genuinely capable cars like the subaru.

Likewise i feel the same about the latest batch of Subaru buyers, why buy something that looks like a smacked arse when for similar money you can have an Evo.

Like you say looks are subjective but the mass amount of people seem to agree that the Subaru is pig ugly.

GGR offer more power already.

We are now delighted to announce our range topping, fully warrantied, independently validated high performance upgrade tuning package for the 300bhp Mk2 Ford Focus RS.

GGR RS370FR Focus RS Tuning Conversion
Incorporating the lessons learnt from the previously released Superchips developed ‘340’ Focus RS upgrade, our new performance conversion features comprehensive mechanical enhancements which have been carefully refined to produce a driveable, reliable, yet stunningly rapid fast road upgrade package.

The mechanical changes required for the RS370FR are extensive but no internal modifications are needed to the Focus RS’s 2.5-litre, five cylinder turbocharged engine. As such the RS370FR tuning package includes:

• GGR carbon fibre Cold Air Induction System (CAIS)
• GGR large capacity air to air intercooler with alloy air diverter plates
• GGR large volume fuel injectors
• GGR silicone boost hoses
• GGR large bore exhaust turbo front pipe and sports catalyst section
• GGR specification ECU remap using Superchip’s Bluefin and firmware upgrade

Post upgrade, the Mk2 Focus RS boasts significant performance gains from just 3000rpm, with total output rising from 301bhp to a stunning 368bhp at 6383rpm, equating to a 22% increase. Torque reaches a peak output of 339lb.ft at 4997rpm (from a measured 310lb.ft on the stock Focus RS,) highlighting the flexibility of the 370FR package.

In our opinion, this is the optimum power and torque output for the car, because even with the sophisticated Revoknuckle front suspension and Quaife ATB differential, gaining sufficient traction can be a problem. Bearing that in mind, we’ve made a conscious policy decision to limit the engine’s torque, although there’s certainly more to come from the motor if we wanted it, because the 370FR package is running relatively low levels of boost.

The RS370FR tuning package is available now, fully fitted at our Leicester premises for £3750.00 plus VAT as a drive in, drive out package.

For complete peace of mind, in addition to our excellent reputation the new RS370FR performance tuning upgrade is covered by our own comprehensive 12 month / 30,000 mile mechanical breakdown warranty.

because an Evo is even bargier, lacks the sharpness of the previous models and still has the silly short servicing sequence of old...whilst not really providing that extra OOMPH that the older models used to?

if you buy a car soley on appearance i am guessing you drive a classic car and NOT a passat right? surely that sig must be almost a pun for everything you dont believe in?

The evo 10 definately doesnt have the short servicing, every 10k now for a service.

Wrong the Evo X has 10k service schedules.

Also what does my car have to do with anything, i really do love it when people do this as they seem to think what you drive directly reflects how valid an opinion you hold.

When i go to spend 25 to 35k on a car i can demand the full package, and looks come into that package, when i spend 4 - 5k on a car i buy what best fits my needs.

Edit: out of interest do you still drive the Corolla?
