GT350 you say?

Was talking to someone (high-end car dealership) the other week and they said Ford are looking like really ballsing up the launch. Apparently the Mustang will only be in 2 showrooms in the country, one in London and one in…Bootle (Liverpool). He thinks they might struggle to shift them and you will probably be able to pick them up with big discounts 12 months after launch.

The GT350 looks rather nice, I'm still holding out for the Toyota FT1 as my next car but I'll certainly go for a test drive in the GT350!

Well when more is known I shall make a decision then and if I go ahead it is because I was happy to purchase one and won't look back. :)

I'm thinking of getting a refund on my deposit now to be honest. I'm starting a new job next year where I won't get to drive much (apart from to the station) and I have a convertible E36 M3 in the garage for the weekends which is fun enough. Maybe I'll spend a bit of money on that instead.

Love the new mustang. Will be interesting to see how popular they will be over here.

I still think they will be a rare sight. Does anyone know how many will be made RHD/come to the UK?

When I spoke to Ford I think for the first year it was a very small number like production will be limited to 100ish for the first year with only about 20-30 V8 models.

I guess the years after that will be judged on the sales success and demand.

Will be interesting because if the numbers are limited and the V8 even rarer they could hold value pretty well just like the Focus RS has done so.

But now I've seen the GT350 I think I will just wait for that if it will only be an extra years wait as those will be a classic and it's the best new look Elanor I've seen so if they are limited I can see one of those being an investment if I essentially keep it forever. :D

Thats just msi-information. There will be several "Ford Stores" throughout the UK which are chosen by Ford UK as flagship stores able to sell their Mustang and Vignale brands.

Sure, they are not letting all Ford franchises sell them but there will be considerably more than 2 for the UK  <---- rolleyes for the dealer guy you spoke to who doesnt know as much as he thinks.

I spoke to the excellent guy I have been dealing with at my local dealer, apparently they had a car at Loughborough today for a course, but everything is being handled by Ford Europe so people in Ford dealer networks in the UK don't have a scooby when anything is happening. Apparently those who have put deposits down will be contacted by Ford directly at some point.

I'm out.

Youtube "Saabkyle" He's had the oppotunity to do a tour around both Ecoboost and V8 version of the car. Would link it but i'm in work -_-

The V8 sounds lovely :D

The only thing that concerns me with the new Mustang is that if Ford prices it right (which by the way I still don't think they will), there will be so many of them on the road that they will lose their appeal.

There are about 87 billion of them in the US - I once parked one in an empty carpark in Death Valley and came back to a row of 6-7 of them - and they've not lost any appeal.

Therefore I wouldn't get too worried.

If they brought the ecoboost in at around $40k I'd be interested.

No real reason why not, a Falcon with the same engine was similar money and size!
