Nay

The Vignale brand is all about an enhanced customer experience,
Expect VIP treatment and exclusive Vignale relation mangers to cater to your needs, with a 24-hour customer support thrown in as part of the package.

Really - who needs this type of service in a Ford?!?!

Assuming someone buys this and takes the hit, they will be pretty decent on the approved used market in a few years. I don't know of any other cars you can buy brand new for £35k with the above options.

A lot of the options you're talking about though are oprional, with the stabdards not making it particularly desirable for the money IMO

If they come with hilarious discounts via brokers etc like the standard car does it might be more appealing though. Like for like engine wise how does it compare on price vs the superb?

Edit - a 240 Mondeo of the standard sort with a bunch of similar options is £27k - the superb with again similar options and the regular 2.0 tsi is similar money, £28k. Another 2 and a bit grand if you want the 280, which as far as I can tell without actually driving the things looks to be a better car.

Then you've got the discounted bmw options as per Jez

The Ford "on call" thing just seems like a BMW assist equivalent

If implemented properly a heated wheel is quite nice - if, like Vauxhall it's done poorly it just feels like cheap fake leather melting in your hands

Love the heated steering wheel in my Range Rover, given how cheap a heating element must be to implement i am surprised that the feature is not more common.

The heated wheel on my old XF was pretty nice, but I can count on one hand the amount of times I used it. It's never really THAT cold :/

That's the first new-shape Mondeo that I've seen that looks decent (i.e. the wheels aren't piddly with big balloon tyres fitted). Still, £35k? Mental.

People convince themselves that Ford are as good as the Germans with regards to build quality etc - and on a pure, factual reliability basis that is very likely to be true, if not better.

But they have never, ever been as good at getting that premium "feel" inside a cabin plus even nicely specced Fords end up with scratched or worn trim or a general feeling of wear within a few years and that's what really let's them down coupled with the fact they try and go for a modern looking dash - which is great at the time but looks worse than a more plain effort down the line

This might be better, never seen one but can't help but feel that's where it will fall short
