It was a good day yesterday. I met Tom (and his better half)., I didnt manage to meet antc though - maybe next time.

I got a few more shots - I reckon I took over 1000 over the two days! Thats a lot to go through!

I missed the crash though :(

Just back from Silverstone. Met Frosty there :)
Great day, was a bit grey and cloudy. The fence is a problem, panning is difficult, and noise, my goodness how noisy are these cars! Have a rocking headache now. Will post pics later.

Hello,

Just thought I'd bung a few of my photos from testing into this thread, I can only imagine the flood of new threads saying 'F1 testing' might become a little to much for some people!

Anyway, as Joe has said I briefly met him and Brian. Will be very much looking forward to going to an event with either one of yourselves in the near future and I make an apologise I couldn't talk more...Sarah really enjoyed herself though and that was the main thing for me out the day.

Took about 300 photos myself over the morning and have about 100 which I am keeping, not processed all of them and the Midland and BAR cars are all I have to show so far. The rest will be available on www.meangasoline.co.uk over the coming days if anybody is interested :)

Jenson in the BAR entering Becketts, I have a lot of photos from this corner which really show the strain on the right rear and front tyre's, sadly this does not so much:

Midland F1, unsure of driver at the moment. Moving around the Luffield complex:
1/640, F/4, 200mm @ ISO 100

Another shot of Jenson:
1/200, F/7.1, 200mm @ ISO 100

Midland F1 taking the first corner at the end of the pit straight:
1/400, F/8, 200mm @ ISO 200

Thanks for looking and critique very much welcome.

Great pics Tom, were they all taken with the 70-200 ?

Certainly was! This may be the only time I go to Silverstone and actually not complain about the range of shots I could take so much, getting right up to and over the fence was a real bonus. A lot of people had step-ladders, I may make this investment in the future!

Bit of an update, all the ones I am putting online are now available by following this link:

www.meangasoline.co.uk - F1 testing

And here are 4 more images I just thought I'd put in here:

I really like this Midland F1 photo as it shows the load on the tyre's through Beckets, from what I've read this corner carries the biggest load on the tyre's out of every F1 circuit in the world

Here's my best photos from the day (took about 450, mostly of empty track!), I didn't quite get the hang of panning, but got a few OK ones towards the end of the day. Any comments/critique?

1. Went for a Top Gear style effect in Photoshop:

2. Coming out of the final corner

3. Panning on a Renault

4. ... and a McLaren

The rest of my (decent) photos are here.

Just to let you all know, there are no more testing sessions until September (and then again in October). As I start my new job in September I probably wont be going to any again this year.

Silverstone race calender can be found here (scroll down for club meetings)
