Formula 1 Testing Silverstone 2006 (revised)

looks like we have a fair few going.

im getting quite excited now as i have never seen or heard an F1 car in the flesh :)

do we know anything more about getting access to restricted areas at all???

do we have a definate weather update for the three days

Should be fine with that lens on this part of the circuit...its what I am taking.

yeah they look good. the portraits of mr coulthard i like and some of the F1 car shots with spray behind them look good as well.

hopefully we will have some of our own threads up later on today.

i will definatley post some of mine tomorrow when i get back.
 
Just got back. Was excellent, didn't rain at all an I am now partially deaf. Didn't see JoeT at all though.

List of teams running.

Mclaren, Renault, Redbull, STR, BMW, Williams and Honda.

Hey all!

Well it only rained for some of the morning ,which was good!

Teams there today were:

McLaren
Renault
BMW-Sauber
Red Bull
STR
Honda
Williams

No Midland F1 - maybe they will be there tomorrow.

I took around 650 pics. Most of them are pretty naff tbh, but some I am happy with - samples to follow shortly. I will proably do a proper thread after tomorrow's session.

It was busier than I've seen it before, both in terms of people and also teams.

I left at lunchtime (having got there at 10ish) partly due to boredom, and partly due to the fact I am going tomorrow. I was by myself too, which didnt help - lonely Joe!

Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow.

D'oh!

The other d'oh was that somehow I got a huge lump of dirt on my sensor - and its on every single picture I took today. On most it can be cloned out - but its a right pain :( :( Ive just cleaned it - first time I've dont the operation. Roll on tomorrow! :)

Please note these are uncropped and totally unprocessed. All they have had done is been resized for webuse. They defintiely need a bit of work - as you can see! You can also see the dirt on my sensor! :(

Im sure there are some better ones too.
 
great pics guys. what kind of access did you have and did anyone get one of those restricted access passes

what was it like then, i bet they sounded amazing.

im really in the mood for this now, cant wait till tomorrow :D
 
I'm quite pleased with the ones I've taken considering its my first go at motor sport. All the ones I took on the pit straight turned out naff though, getting the timing right at 150mph is hard.

Oh, just a warning on anyone planning on buying food their, remortgage the house first. £4 for a bacon baguette :eek:

I paid £5.50 for a pork baguette - and it wasnt even that good! The burgers are cheaper though.
