I've decided against them, from what I can tell they seem to fall apart pretty quickly (seems pretty common on Sennheisers these days). I would imagine they are better than the Goldrings though, as I thought they also had a habit of falling apart?

news to me I have a 3 year old pair of 350's that are very battered not fallen apart at all though.

Same for my Game One's not falling apart sure they don't feel as well made as my X1's but you have to be pretty rough with them to break them.

had a pair of these since my review linked in the OP

worn pretty much daily. zero build quality issues with Sennheiser.

Only weakness I've had is the volume dial. My original set (360s) started to crackle and then eventually one or the other speakers would sometimes cut out when I changed the volume using the dial. Sennheiser replaced them in less than a week just inside the warranty period for a brand new set, which were perfect at first but have recently started to crackle sometimes in the same way.

As I very rarely change the volume using the dial it's not a massive pain, but it is obviously a weakness in design or manufacture based on my experience of these 2 sets. Aside from that however, they have been flawless, with no obvious signs of wear and peerless quality (for a headset - I appreciate they are not high end audiophile headphones).

Does 5.1 on a headphone matter? I have never been able to tell the difference between a decent set of stereo cans and "5.1" or "7.1" gaming headphones. I'd even say that stereo sounds better imo.

Depends on your game and playing style I guess... My Kave5.1's are like a wallhack on BF4 on some maps/gametypes, the positional audio is that good! You don't get that from standard stereo/2.1 ;)

I've used Sennheiser 350's for several years They are light fit your ears nicely and isolate sound incredibly well. So much so that the missus used to scare the crap out of me as I wouldn't hear her coming. I have admittedly gone a foray into the headphone world and I do agree with the sentiments that gaming headsets are over priced. My X1's are so much better than my Game Ones for music and they really hold up well in games. But That microphone on the 350's it is so Good it's a real selling point and for £100 They get my vote.

If you have a sound card and play a lot of games and use in game comms then these would be a good purchase without a doubt. They are also incredibly good for Lans if that is your thing.

I dont need a mic ive got a cheapy zalman but I do enjoy a bash on things like borderlands with the guys and tend to throw torrents of abuse around at each other. For 100 quid is there better? Will be driven by my phoebus

if you've got a decent sound card then it really is a no brainer.

what headphones do you use currently?

Hey TwsT

Would you say the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro are overall better for music and gaming?.

Yes better overall but once you factor in a mod mic or some other decent mic the price is much more. I think Ryan has answered all your q's in the other thread. this headset is for people who want an AIO solution with a good mic and a pretty good pair of headphones. The sound is better than most of the gaming headsets at £100 I would say that this is the price they always should have been. Much like the MMX 300 and the QPAD 1339 Sennheiser Did I feel inflate the price becuase of the "gaming" tag. Either way £99.95 is not a bad price for these headphones I sold my 3 + year old pair for £50 about 6 months ago.

ive got the razer kraken 7.1 usb headset would i notice the difference if i bought these.

Only if you have a soundcard.

Only if you have a soundcard.

was looking at these and getting a dac/amp but would only use onboard sound/card for now, my board is a msi z97m gaming, but also if i get a dac would i need a splitter cable for mic/headphone jacks to connect to a dac with just one headphone socket.
