I'm not colour blind and I'm not very impressed by the new envelope with light-red dot on it either. Harder to see and much less obvious.

Either of the above stand out much better.

I’m all good with the icons. But on the mobile version at least, if you go to the newest messages then go ‘Back’. It won’t update the mail icon to ‘Read’. It will be as if you’ve not looked in the thread yet and show as ‘unread/new messages’.
Which is a step backwards on the old design. Is it a bug or intended?

Yeah I like that the icon is more modern, but agree it needs to be a centred black dot.

The dot colour should be specific to the theme. Red looks good on alternative/dark. Not so good on blue/green.

Maybe I'm being stupid, but they could totally remove the dot, and the envelope would still do the same job wouldn't it? . People can see the difference in the envelope right?

The dot shows whether you've posted in a thread, the envelope shows read or unread

They expire after 4 days with the current setting.

am i the only one that has it that if they view the forum on mobile, read threads etc, then go to desktop, sometimes the same threads show as unread. you click the button and it takes you to posts you've already read?

it's not every thread though. for instance with the trump thread. i read it yesterday on mobile. someone posted something today and i go to view on desktop but it takes me back to the post i read yesterday and not the new one from today.

Yep I have had this since the update to forum. It is sporadic and haven't work out why it happening.

Not messing, working on a better solution
