What, the bit where you select them?

You're probably not in sexy edit mode.

Tap the three dots at the top right of the reply box and make sure the square brackets below are black.

@Feek in sexy edit mode on mobile, when you quote someone how do you move the text curser to the line below the quote box? I always have to turn off bb code to be able to do it. Same if you want to put your curser on the line above the quote.

iPhone? I just hold down space and drag the cursor down?

Yes, iPhone. If the curser for whatever reason ends up in the quote, I can't fathom out how to get it out if there's no line below to move into. Pressing return just puts new lines in the quote.
