forums gone quiet?

Flopsy forgot to mention that threads made to identify what the OP finds an unusual creature or state the OP has a crash landed octagonal alien space probe at the bottom of the garden, you must write "NUKE IT FROM ORBIT!" or face suspension.

Forums not just here but in general feel different to me these days, perhaps they will end up being a product/function of their times, perhaps social media has a part to play, not sure really, I don't post as much these because life got in the way, not a bad thing I guess.

Not sure if this is the right thread but gf's got the idea to decorate, only trouble is we have a table in the corner with a chess set and a globe of the earth on it, so to the problem do i lift the table with the globe and chess set still on it or do i remove them then lift or do i shove it across the carpet and not lift at all if i choose this option do i shove it before putting dust sheets on the floor or after:confused::confused:

Does OcUK have a Facebook page? Just wondered because other forums I've been on have set up their own FB channels which is killing off the forums as everyone flock to the FB counterpart.

Probably due to them deleting or closing so many of the Posts/Replies, random banning combined with users who simply tire of the arbitrary Moderation here so no longer Post seriously.

Why would anyone create/reply to Threads when a Mod can toodle along and either close it or start deleting half of it on a whim*, it even happens regularly with other members of the Moderating Team posting with out any problems in a large Thread for one Mod to come and shut it down because apparently 'They don't like it'. They say they want a good family friendly Forum with debate on here, except of course when they don't...

It is probably even pointless of me typing out a serious reply when in all probability it will simply be deleted/removed. In which case I could have simply typed 'LolMods' (This is not an attack on the Mods, just trying to make a point is all.) for the same censored result anyway.

*Some 'Rule' that isn't actually a Rule or some Rule made up for a specific user/religion/product but not others.

I got banned recently for "swearing" in a thread. Apparently, I should have starred all the letters out as opposed to just some of them.

I ended up having to pay postage on a purchase during this time.

I would have stormed off in the huff, never to post again. However, the advice I seek here is usually swift and spot on, plus I wasn't that bothered about the ban.

I've been a member for a decade give or take. And I saw a huge drop a few years ago when the owner, at the time (naming no names), had a bit of a racist rep thing going on. And lots of weird bans and anti-forums showed up and so on. I don't think the community ever fully recovered tbh. Lost a lot of core dudes (and dudettes).

i posted a picture with a naughty word on. but you needed to zoom it about 5000x to see it (hence posting it not realising what it said).

The 'This instant and moment' thread being absent hurts the forum turnover a bit, and given the execution of Theo, I wonder might it make a comeback at some stage. It is nice to have a thread just to randomly post from time to time, a thought, or a deed.

I've noticed that threads don't disappear from the front page of GD anywhere near as quickly as they used to.
