forums gone quiet?

It's gotten quieter but I don't think it's as dead as some people are saying it is.

All the threads on Page 1 have all been updated today so there is activity and that's GD alone.

I never posted in the TIAM but it was very popular so it should be brought back but just don't have the posts that go toward the post count.

OR just scrap the post count counter so no one knows how many they have so it doesn't matter! :p

I don't dislike that suggestion - I'll have a think about it.

We did discuss the alternative of having a subforum which incurs no postcount as well.

no-postcount subforum sounds a bit extreme, but Maccas idea sounds easy and beneficial.
The rest of the crap could probably be sorted out with a rule like:

"All comments must make sense when read on their own, or with reference to a single quoted post or article"

Not sure why some people give a toss about post count tbh. Apart from achieving MM access and identifying noobs*, it's pretty irrelevant.

* I jest... Kind of.

Too many subforums now, so a thread will get moved to an inactive subforum and it wont get enough replies or help, because no one knows it exists. Of course, they will keep adding new ones until Printers is split into different brands and types, so anyone who has a question will try a different tech forum.

I only really look at the look what i purchased thread, which is normally just tat and anime, with the odd gem.

My posts per day has gone down considerably, need some nonsense GD threads to post on to vent my anger onto the internet. They are usually stopped <10 posts in. :(

For good reason generally.

The reason I end up all over the place is because I use the "new posts" button and click whatever looks interesting. :p

What I found funny about the old TIAM thread is that people complained about where the thread was going and all the crap that was posted. Yet didn't ever post trying to change the subject or to get the conversation going a different way.

We've agreed on a solution the TIAM will be back, but deleted on a monthly basis. :)

+1 to the above, there are loads of forums with not so nice folk on there, or don't even acknowledge rules and stuff like that.

I like OCUK, and the people in it. Anything you need to know OCUK has the answer! :D.

Who says we don't listen and give back to the community?! :p

I know I know... such a hero ;)

All the hot linking to imgur is pretty much pointing to the reason why in my books.

Also this forum and site desperately need better mobile support.
I hate browsing the forum on my mobile.

That's not entirely true. The mods certainly tried o change the direction of the 'conversation' and so did I!
