Forza 2 Demo - Feedback

Pointing out the self-evident truth that you can't see your own car while you are driving, is trolling. Hmm.

If you think a huge variety of cars is a waste of time just because you cant see them (even though you can if you want) then your playing the wrong game mate.

I havent played the demo but one observation I made from what people have said it "no abs, no traction control".

Anyone who has driven a power car will know that if you havent got ABS and you slam on the brakes at 100mph, then you will lock wheels and slide simple.

GT4 is a car simulator its not a racing simulator though.

You keep comaring the two, its not like people will not bother to get this and keep playing GT4 with our fingers crossed that GT5 arrives in 2008 just because its dropped track-track races and hasnt as many tracks. Its how it plays that matters and how each car changes the play mechanics that will make the game.

People that love racing games will get this no matter what amount of content or number of tracks it has. Its an issue for you but i dont think many others share your view on it. Also if it does get boring for some earlier then sell it on, its only a game some will play it for over a year others maybe not more than a fortnight.

I didn't say it was a waste of time. But I would rather have say 200 cars than 300, but have an extra half dozen good quality tracks. I think that many of the tracks in the game are quite dull, just like Forza. I would always dread racing on Silverstone for example because it was so featureless and boring to look at - not to mention quite difficult to make out the track because it was almost the same colour as the grass...

Only time ABS cut in my cars is when hitting ice, braking on wet grass or braking on snow.

But you didn't go around locking the brakes up every time you pressed them slightly did you. In fact in many years of owning non-ABS cars (I only got my first ABS car a year ago) I reckon I locked the brakes only a handful of times ever.

Of course it will always be more difficult on a pad. Using a wheel and pedals you can control the braking much easier. I learnt that when I first bought my DFP.

ABS will stop wheels from locking up, doh, it does not stop you from applying full brakes, good grief some of you really need to drive a real car...

you keep on saying that but i'm not sure why. i'm playing around with a Galardo and a Ferrari 550 in the coming month if that is good enough for you. :D

btw Mr Men, what's a real car?

i enjoyed the demo but i do hope the car models look better in-game on the full game or i will be disappointed , liked the handling etc .

Just a hunch, but I'm guessing you weren't ragging these cars around a race track at break-neck speeds..

Jaggies don't bother me.

It runs super smooth, the cars handle great(my wheel didn't come YET)and the sound is unreal.

I can't see what people are moaning about.

So your telling us that Forza's braking replicates real life? hahahahaha seriously? If I got in Ferrari and used 1/4th of braking power and it locked the wheels up and slide 100 yards, I would get out of it very quickly...before it killed me.

No but I don't think that renders what I said invalid. The brakes in Forza (and apparently FM2 is the same) are unrealistically easy to lock up without ABS.

I gotta say, after playing with the M3, this is apart from Live For Speed, one of my favourite racers. Everything just seems to handle like it should! :D

take a forza car, drive in a straight line at 100MPH, brake with 1/2 power, wonder why the tyres are locked and your not slowing down, try that in a Ford Fiesta and marvel at how the brakes slow the car down in a controlled manner, you don't need to rag a car to realise Forza is wrong.
