Forza 2 Graphics

I think the level of detail in this game is amazing tbh, little things like being able to drive into your bumper, which has just fell off is pretty cool :p and its there lap after lap.

The game play realy engrosses you so you, well ime anyway, dont have time to nitpick over gfx.You either like games like these or you dont, i think most people who like driving will like this game tbh.

The Toca Race Driver and Colin McRae Rally games had this too FWIW.

Well at first I felt that the graphics were very average but after an hour or so of gameplay you start to notice little things and the amount of details that are there when you really start to look.

Am very impressed with Forza and its gfx, i think they are simply awesome and the framerate..cue DD is smooth and very fluid. Havent noticed any sort of stuttering or jaggies tbh but then im driving way too fast to notice such things:p

Love this game and im seriously considering buying the wireless wheel now.

I was impressed by Forza 1 graphics :p therefore Forza 2 to me is incredible. I haven't got round to buying 2 yet (exams :( ) but i've been playing Forza 1 for the last month so i should be able to jump straight in and be used to the handling.

I wonder if this game has made anyone come over to my views about framerate at all ;)

IGN seem to have done, although anyone would think Forza 2 was the first 60fps game they've ever seen.

Graphics
We've seen just as many screens and videos of the game in action as you guys, but they didn't prepare us for the way Forza 2 looks when hitting three hundred kilometres an hour through New York's Times Square. The most in-your-face, retina-stretching effect is the game's frame rate. Locked at a super smooth 60fps, it's made the IGN AU editors firm believers in the importance of 60 over 30. We'd always thought 30fps was fine… until we played Forza 2 and were kicked into the back of our chairs by its sensation of speed. Strangely enough, it's also less straining on the eyeballs.

Yeah the graphics imo are getting better, was getting kinda bored with the midday races, but started to get early evening /morning ones now, and yes NY looks incredible (even though to me it doesnt seem to have as many twists and turns, but maybe Im recalling it wrong)

The constant transition from light to shade on that track makes it tough for me to pick a braking point for the hairpins. I've blown several races by face-planting in to the armco!

The graphics in FM 2 look perfectly fine to me, and besides I'm too busy keeping my car on the track to notice the scenery that much.

I do know why some people are criticizing the graphics - some of the real world tracks in F2 aren't very inspiring in real life hence they don't look inspiring in F2 either. I'm thinking Silverstone, Sebring etc. They are just dull flat places in real life.

There isn't much more they could do to make those tracks look better and still have them accurate. If you actually stop your car and look at the track and surrounds, the textures used are excellent and there's a lot of detail on everything.

What I can't understand though is people saying it's boring. Try turning the ideal line, TC and STM off. That's the only way to appreciate the physics and get into some real racing. Buy a nice RWD card like an Elise and see how much fun it is steering it with the throttle round somewhere like Suzuka.

After playing the GT games with their large number of richly varied and detailed tracks, the Forza games are very dull and bland in comparison, as far as I am concerned.

Have you actually played Forza 2 or are you still going by what ign said? How many times do you have to state your love for GT...we get it...

I've played Forza 1 :) Forza 2 has the same dull tracks.

Ah but the key point is you haven't played Forza 2 so you are basing your opinion on a previous gen game...

Been playing this all afternoon and there's nothing bland or dull about it that I can see and I've played the GT series. You're still whining on about the graphics and yet you don't have the game to hand.

Maybe you should go play Need For Speed and pimp up your dirtydogmobile with some nice pink lights!

Sigh :) Forza 2's graphics are bland, I can see that from screenshots and videos. Forza 2's tracks are bland because I've 'driven' on them in other games.

Just my opinion. To me the game looks bland and to me the tracks are dull and boring.

I predict a lot of people will be bored of the game in a few weeks. Driving the same repetitive handful of tracks gets old fast.
