Forza 2 latest Update and Demo Discussion Thread

Couple of things I'm still not sure about from looking at the vids...

1) Are cars reflected in other cars' bodywork?

2) Do 'bits' of cars actually work i.e. I noticed on one vid the Carrera GT's spoiler didn't pop up after it should have done. I would have hoped things like this and the McMerc SLR's airbrake would actually be functional in the game.

So ripping the spoiler and all those bodypanels off wont stop it doing 200mph rock steady . Disappointing but predictable, maybe they'll do stuff like that next gen.
Im not sure if any game accounts for damage like that at present on any platform?

damage affected performance in forza1 so i'd imagine it will in forza2 aswell ;)

as well as bodywork damage, engine damage also happens if you keep reving into the redline - this slows down acceleration & top end speed. if you keep doing it eventually the engine will hardly rev at all :)

have a hard impact on the front and the car will pull to the left or right if the steering is damaged, if the brakes are damaged it will also be harder to stop and also pull under braking if only one side is damaged.

you get the idea, its all good :D

if you set damage to cosmetic only, none of this happens.

Well the Colin Mcrae Rally games, (and DIRT) do, you can kill your car if you crash too hard, mess up your steering and gearbox, have flailing doors and body panels, they affect car performance. I'm not sure how far the damage goes in Forza 2 but it would be *curse* if they missed out damage affected performance. The Dodge and Carrera GT video showed a diagram when the Dodge hit the Porsche which displayed the engine being yellowed which would indicate it is slightly damaged therefore affecting performance?

EDIT: beaten by spaceman's better post.

I'm sure the damage will be the same as in Forza 1, i.e. keep battering particular parts of your car and it will lose performance and handling.

O get over it lol I want the demo as much as anyone else im just getting annoyed at waiting and the general marketplace pap (pricing/releases) getting more of a joke than me :p
