Forza 2 latest Update and Demo Discussion Thread

the demo might not be out this week.....failed cert - the game passed though :D

This is becoming a joke :) I guess MS/Turn 10 are unfamiliar with the adage of under-promising and over-delivering. By promising the demo in April, and now nearly a third of the way through May they still don't know when it will come out, they look like incompetent fools. Or worse, liars.

Ok so we know where your sources came from now so let the readers on this thread decide for themselves if they think they are credible.

Ok well a few, or maybe a lot of us knew that the demo wasn't going to appear as me, you and many others thought it would be sensible of MS to release AFTER the update. But of course someone with his sources thought otherwise. To be honest I'm not going to say too much except that another thread with some ridiculous replies and insults from said person claimed these sources gave him his info concerning 360 overheating issue's/failures. After seeing who they are now, I know (well i knew then but now it's confirmed) that he is just full of poop.

That's all i'm going say about that and i'll stick with my original thoughts that the demo will follow closely behind the dashboard update.

Hallelujah

for you Mr Ignorant - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17725343

again enlighten yourself. Xbox 360 overheats and dies, fact. Its common knowledge, its a well known flaw, your ignorance does not take away from that.

Liars, or something to hide?

Possibly the former because of the latter. As I think you mentioned previously, it does make me wonder whether the demo doesn't show the full game in a very good light.

I hope their programing skills exceeds their scheduling abilities, I suspect it does and they have their priorities right.

Can we just discuss the game btw. The mugello track looks a good choice for the demo - taken from the link posted earlier

A lot of wasteful comments have been made since I last checked the thread lastnight.

Mr Men, you are becoming an annoyance to this thread. Your comments are turning bitter and the way you act towards some people in here is getting abusive. Latte, while prone to get excited and react to comments from someone such as yourself, has tried to sort things out with you a number of times - something you seem unable to do.

I'd imagine its unlikely that your comments will be read with anything more than a pinch of salt in future.

Oh another day another drama, meanwhile back it the real world........never seen a forum so full of uptight people, amazing.

Thankyou i have tried to be more cival over it.
I totally disagreed with what he was saying way early on and because i did i suppose i picked a nerve with him. He questioned my own view of the situation and the update always in a way that it didnt matter as because what his sources said just had to be what was happening.

Slap it up him for being stupid enough, but still theirs no excuse for the rudeness in his posts. Now he wants to continue this further with arguing over X360 reliability or about a report that the demo is delayed because of some matter. Peraphs hes now on an agenda in spite of him looking a bit silly this morning...

Delays are annoying for us all but moaning about them is just as annoying.

*SNIP*

What is a video wall?
Oh, and I like that track, I remember it from TOCA I think.

Hey guys thought you may be interested but me and a few mates just setup a new community for Forza Motorsport 2.

We are going to start featuring tuning information, track information and car setups for each track, car gallery for custom car designs and a auction house for member wheeler dealers to buy, sell or trade other cars with fellow community members. Hopefully if it kicks off competitions, regular tourney nights etc.....

If anyone is interested and would like to join head on over to Forza Addict. <- Just click the link to the left will redirect you to the site.

Really looking forward to this game. Here a ton worth of screenies for you to drool over. Links taken from Forza Addict.

Tasty looking screenies.

Do you know what the short version of Mugello is from the whole track or can we edit this to display it better? Reckon i know but be good to illustrate and direction

Yeah its quite possible, probably dont want to put people off buying wheels and race seats if the game is arcade, that constant tyre noise in every corner really bothers me.

Ok im assuming your treating this as getting in the odd personal jibe now as im the only one i believe who has mentioned a seat.

Lets put you right again shall we....
I shall answer your concerns saying you are a bit out of touch with the game.

Games Handling and specifically the wheel.

Xboxyde
"As for the game, the gameplay itself is just mind blowing. Honestly this is the first time I'm so impressed by a simulation game. Of course the fact that I'm playing with the FF wheel certainly helps, but still each car feels so different from the others that it's like a brand new game each time you try a new one. The wheel also just works perfectly, each slight loss of traction is felt immediately, each small bump is there too. Just perfect handling all around"

Audio Options
Tire noise annoy you does it?

Then sort to your preference.

Regards trial versions
These didnt have all the bugs squashed or all graphics finalised. I agree some of the screenshots posted by various game sites are a little underpar looking but im not as ive always said going to base judement untill i play the full game. As for the demo nobody im aware of has played the demo outside of MS or Turn 10 so we cant comment on that.

I agree the game will likely have some graphical annoyances but given 60 frames and the reported superb sense of speed the game provides im still looking forward to it as im sure are others too.

It's not the actual sound that bothers me, well it does as its clearly annoying, but the fact that the tyres seem to be struggling for grip on every corner, at every speed (assuming the sounds are off course correctly mapped to the physics) so turning the sounds down should not change the fact that the tyre physics seem wrong again and they will still be slipping (again if the sounds are tied to the physics, if they aint well.....oh dear)

"Honestly this is the first time I'm so impressed by a simulation game"

What sim games has this guy played before? PGR2? LOL

Shame they could not have delayed the game to include a realistic racing view in this sim, no cockpit view in a sim? that changed my mind about even bothering with a wheel when the pad will deliver just as well and probably be quicker.

Personally I hate the cockpit view...it's far too restrictive. Even if it's a sim..

You did specifically mention tire noise...nothing about grip :p

*sorry*

:D
