Forza 4

Fanatec CSR Elite just ordered... :D

Nice one, I'm trying to persuade myself i need to upgrade from the Fanatec Turbo S, the CSR Elite does look awesome, but is it going to be noticeably better.

Just dinged lvl125 today, I've got 60hrs into this game and still only 38% complete. Stuck at 695/1000 with the achievements... Need to borrow a Kinect and get someone to buy a tuning setup off me.... Then its just a long hard grind to get the others.

I've been reading the reviews & there was one where the reviewer had his own gt2 and he thought the csr elite was worth the upgrade... the gt2 is a bit newer than the turbo s isn't it?

Well, I've been a good boy this year, so there is a chance Santa might fetch me one. :)

Whats with the Forza servers tonight, keep getting Forza 4 motorsport server not available then cant get back in for ages :(

I've found the servers to be pretty bad since release, I've had many a race where it starts loading a circuit then it'll load back into the menus... very annoying!

Finally completed the World Tour this evening, be nice of them to at least give you a prize car at the end, you get sod all! :p Now to work through the event list...

^ Yeah. Admittedly I haven't been on Forza 4 since last Thursday due to Skyrim being so addictive, but I was on it pretty much every day for at least a couple of hours since release up until then and found the servers to be unavailable more or less every other day. Kind of ridiculous to be honest.

I am back!!! finally the investigation into my account is done and i am back online. i hope to get invites for any races going on again. really missing the online side of the game!!

Im level 64, just under 11% done, looking at the events list with all the boxes is a little depressing...

Getting the 5 most expensive cars and all the ferarri's and level 50 affinity must take a few hundred hours.

Also I completed all the career races, but still havent unlocked the raced on all tracks badge?

Slow and steady... I wouldn't recommend overdosing on this bit.

I'm going for level 50 affinity in Ferrari, given that I'll be buying loads of them. If you look around you can easily find a list of which Ferrari's you need. I think it includes the really expensive ones, so that covers part of the "5 most expensive cars" thing as well. Apparently the auction house can be a good bet for picking up the cars. Alternatively, we could get a group of us and each aim to save up for one particular car, then just gift them around from one to the other, so everyone can get the achievement... I believe that works. That being said, I'm sure that just grinding out credits in the event list or doing rivals or whatever will earn you enough to get all the expensive cars and the Ferraris.

Oh yeah, and after level 25 the affinity thing gets easier - apparently it's only 50k per level after that.

The achievement is for every configuration of every track, so that's every configuration in one or both directions, every stage of the point to points, etc. You're more likely to get it through the event list.

I hit level 150 at the weekend (70hr driving time), got the 5 most expensive cars and also ferrari owners achievements... I have every manufacturer up to affinity 5, 21 up to 10 and I'm now focusing on Mazda and have only managed to get to level 22 (21-22 is 120k XP iirc)

Ive done just shy of 50% of the event list, and also still haven't got the all tracks raced achievement either.

Im at ferrarri level 22 (love my suped up f355 to class A600) and im at almost 12% now!

Sounds like a good idea saving up for a car each...

I didn't realise everyone else was collecting Ferraris! I think I'm only at level 16 for Ferrari but will get to 50 one day :)

Pretty silly question in this thread but is this game worth getting for £29.99? I've got Forza 3 and feel like it'll be the same again but would love to be proved wrong. Think I'll probably get this as opposed to Saints Row the 3rd for crimbo anyway.

Any thoughts?

The only car I'd want is the GranTurismo MC GT4... they're so many epic cars they could choose to put in these car packs, disappointing really! The last car pack was dire too.

I love the way the images of the cars in that link make the graphics look really good too with tonnes of AA :p still doesn't compare to GT5 graphics!

I'd say so, the car physics in FM4 are quite a lot better than FM3 along with a much improved cockpit view. In FM3 I always used to use chase cam, but they seem to have got the cockpit view spot on and it's all I use now!

The cars do tend to slide a lot during cornering for no apparent reason I find (mainly the more powerful road cars tbh) which gets a bit infuriating at times, you get used to it though. Graphics wise they haven't done much other than a few fancy reflection effects and exhaust flames.

Overall it's not really massively different to FM3 other than a few extra features such as the car clubs and rivals modes. Pretty much all the same tracks as FM3 too bar a few new additions, which I thought was a bit disappointing really. Personally I'd wait until it's closer to £20 tbh unless you're a massive racing game fan. :)

It's not for "no apparent reason". It's the More Physics™.
