Forza Motorsport 3 Car Skins Show Off Thread

Well its almost finished but Im wanting this to be as good as possible with accurate, proper sized and placed logos.
Did this all from scratch except for some logos from the storefront but even those were then self modified.

Some areas of this car are really difficult, the red and gold lines in particular at the front as the body distorts them.
Ive modelled this from the Tamiya RC Car and its sticker set for accuracy.
Currently at 1842 layers

Looking good, and I admire your tenacity with it, but wow, 60 hours, thats about how long lvl 1-50 took! Long time, but as said, looking great and the main thing is you're getting from the game what you want! :)
 
some really talented painters on here, I-bert, wain and now Mr Latte, i really wish i had the patience to do something like this but i simply don't - credit where it's due :)
 
You have to be careful as it can take over your life quite easily!

I don't consider myself an artist at all, my work is just copying real designs - only patience (and shed-loads of time) required... if I can do it, anyone can...

... that's my honest opinion. The designs that are based on photo realism take a proper artist though!!

How much are you spending on modding the car before u auction each one dude??

Lemme know, I tell you what I'd sell for... it may help...

Looking good, it's worth spending the extra time... mind you, with lines u have no choice!

Well done on the 959. It's looking fantastic!!!

I have one small criticism but i won't mention it as you say it isnt finished yet.

Its a tricky thing when selling a car like that on a storefront.
The car isn't as popular as say an Impreza, so even though your design is great, you might not get that many sales.

I've never used the auction house, but going by wains earnings it seems to be the best way of making money. I've sold over 1000 designs (which is quite good for cars that don't have any anime on them) but i've only made about 12m credits.

You also have the leaderboard for designers, so you should consider if thats important to you.

Whatever you choose, i hope it sells well.

It's not to bad to do with only the red patrick's cross being a bit on a pain to get the corners nice and clean

I just made the flag the same size as the screen and didn't move anything from center to do the main part of the st george's cross then when you have made the extra bits for the st andrew's cross it's just a case of copying and flipping for each corner

If you have any problems i have one on my store (Eyerex) which i will change to free for a while so you can grab

Just tried changing price to free but it won't let me so dropped the price

Thanks for the comments guys, been working at it tonight further, making fixes.

What is annoying is the errors in the models design means some areas are impossible to fix. It is clear to my knowledge that this car has just been transported from FM2 with its errors an all.

Yeah Ive not done for money but self love of the car.
As you say not a very popular car really. Im also not very artistic but find copying from a design not so bad.

I was looking for a project after my HL2 car. Have you got any more reference pictures of the top, sides on, rear etc?
 
Such a shame the wide-arch version didn't make it into FIII!

And a shame, after putting the identical car in F2, that Turn 10 didn't make the Rally version of the Stratos and include it...

I was hoping (before the game launched) that Forza 3 would have wide arch kits and official WRC spoilers etc, etc....

A huge loss if you ask me, not that the game isn't awesome...

I agree, Turn10 should have included more choice of bodykits, including widearch kits.

Would also have been wicked for some night racing.......Come on Turn10...we know you are listening to us....Night Racing, Bodykits (including widearch) and, my personal preference, more SUV's and more pre-80's cars including the more mundane like Rover SD1 or Triumph Stag V8 or even MG's.......
