found something interesting :D

I'm thinking about using some of this on the side panel of my tj07 where I have 4 fans for my rad. How would I attach it to the mesh?

RoEy

i'm thinking about hot glue to fix it to my side panel, i'm going to try it later on my old antec 900 case to see how it looks and if it will work ok, check my other thread here LINK

as for your case it should work ok, but would recommend getting the medium mesh, the ultra fine is to restrictive

Cheers mate.

yes it is quite expensive but i think they might be able to do smaller orders, just to give you an idea how much you get for your money out of the last lot i ordered i still have enough to do the side panel on my HAF + all the bay filters and i will still have over a sheet of it left for future mods,

but as i said if you e-mail them they will sort something out for you, just make sure you ask them to send it out flat makes it much easier to work with and looks better i even offered to pay extra for this and they said they would do it foc, it come on a heavy duty card roll and perfectly flat

alough if there is enough interest maybe OCUK could stock it as a modding item, i'm sure there would be others that would be interested in buying it from oc instead, if there is anyone from OCUK that think it might be interesting to add to stock let me know and i'll give you all the info :D

stainless steel filter ...i wonder how good the quality of S.S is?

because if it's a low grade S.S.....it'll rust and fall apart...especially in a damp/humid house during the winter...yes S.S does rust, my new kitchen sink did, until i treated it....it wont rust as bad as normal steel wool, it'll have rust patches on it instead

i'd test it first...wash it and see if it turns orange a few days later......but you'll probable be ok, i just thought i'd mention it

the place i bought it from sell it as something you can make costumes and things out of but i will test it just to make sure :)
i have left some in a glass half full (or half empty depending on what sort of mood your in ;) ) and will check it this time tomorrow to see if there's any change, but i think i know what else i've seen this used...... dishwasher filter!!! so if it is the same stuff should last for a very long time :D

anyway will update if i see any change

aaaaahhh then you'll be ok mate :D:D.....i just thought i'd mention it, what you've done looks pretty cool.....

i dont bother with filters, i have an air compressor that i use once every 3 months......... but on my new LIAN PC-A71A, i might leave the filers in place

just to update on the washing front :) it's all good i left some in water overnight and left to dry and no discolouration or rust anywhere :D

and even better news there's no difference in temps between filters fitted and not fitted, that's only front filters on my HAF but early results are good  :D oh and the filter the dust quite well as well but again it's early days so will check for dust build up about this time next week

Exactly which mesh are you now using as there seems to be a few to choose from ?
Thanks for doing all the hard work for us all !

i started with the ultra fine but found it very restrictive on small filters so ordered the medium fine one and it's far better and with only the front filters fitted no change in temps

will do more testing when i do the side panel filter but looks good so far :D

oh and it's not a problem m8, I've found this forum to be very helpful and i'm happy to give back:cool:

Thanls Razer - I knew you went to a medium one, but wasn't sure which.
Now I know, I may place me an order - when you get to 250 posts you can get your trust sorted - if that happens over the next few days, send me an email (the address is in my trust) and I'll let the company that sold the mesh to you know what you are doing for them !
I agree with what you say about helping out and giving back - good on you for actually doing so !

Just thought I should add that I have been in touch with the company (again, no names mentioned for fear of breaking the rules but if anyone wants the name or a link, then email me from my trust..)
They are happy to send me 3 pieces of medium fine mesh 120x120mm in size for £6.
Now this may be a special price for me as I have offered to send it on to be tested, but if you want to give it a try, it seems too good to miss out on - saves the problem of buying tights too !

anything to stop the guys on here using tights is always a good thing :D

anyway bit of an update....................... the ink........... well it works but is no where near good enough, at the moment permanent marker is the best option, but i'm going to try spray paint tomorrow so will let you know how i get on

anyway check the link in my sig for updated pic's including a mesh replacement window on the side panel of my old antec 900 and best leave any comment's on that thread, can't Imagen the response if this thread go's to a 3rd page :D:D:D:D:D

oh and great news steve :D, is that £6 shipped to Spain? anyway let us know how you get on :D
