Fox Repeller

Unfortunately "humane" methods rarely work for long (although at the beginning they do) and then it's down to killing them so I'd see your local pest controller or farmer (they usually know of someone who can get rid of them).

Pehaps i should get a dog.

Thats not a bad idea, cheers

Probably both of these. The sister's BF's family keeps ducks and always puts the mutt out to run around in the evening so there's a good scent of dog about everywhere.

If it's your land you should be able to give someone with a FAC permission to shoot on it, no? (assuming it would be safe to do so).

I started a thread a while back on this and spoke at length with a fox expert on the phone. His first suggestion was to get or borrow a dog and let it do its thing in the garden. Foxes don't like dog scent as they see dogs as dominant. If that's not possible, he suggested getting some clumps of uncut dog hair and placing them around the garden in socks or nets. His final suggestion was the 'water scarecrow' which detects movement in the garden and sprays water in any or every direction which foxes don't like; problem with these is that the motor is fairly noisy for night time.

In my case, i followed his instructions to find out if there was a den being built under my shed. It turned out that there wasn't so i didn't bother going ahead with using any deterrants.

My gf who works at an animal sanctuary says that male human urine usually wards them off, so take a leak every now and then around the perimeter!

Tried that, didn't work.

I am now trying out a Sonic jobby, seems to be working thus far.

TBH if that worked our local shoot wouldn't be heaving in foxes, what with the amount of blokes out peeing in the woods LOL :D

I just knew this thread would go this way the moment I saw it under ''new posts'' :D.

Would a big guard dog not work ?
