Fractal Design's Define S

Just ordered one of these and some cablemod cables (didn't want to have to deal with my extensions) :D

Been missing my R3 ever since I stopped using it, will be nice to have a FD case again :)

Gonna be starting to buy more watercooling stuff like rads etc next month, hopefully I can pretty much get it silent

What's the sound insulation like on this model? Any good?

Got my non-windowed one tonight (due to me needing the side fan for SLi, plus it's against a wall anyhow!). Both side panels are insulated and the top also is with the Moduvent covers :)

The front isn't unfortunately but their's nothing stopping from doing it yourself with a bit of something (I'm pondering doing this, as I love a silent system at idle :))

Hope this helps

I couldn't find any mention of not being able to fit slightly wider motherboards, if anything from the video it looks like there would be space.

Your best bet to be sure is to ask someone with one to measure the usable motherboard width before it hits the bend on the motherboard tray.

Tubing to change and fittings also, was planning on getting the new Watercool block but i really cant justify another £120 on a block when this one works great.

Need some lighting installed also.

One thing i didn't know about the Define S is that to use the mounts for a res at the side you have to use a kind of slim radiator, 40mm odd or you will not have access to the mounts.

I was annoyed about that, i bought a Bitspower res for that but had to use it as pump mounted res top and it doesn't really match the clear top.

Ordered one last night. No watercooling, I just like the idea of space.

My Coolermaster CM960 II can barely fit a 280x (well it doesn't really - 1mm space to the hd cage) and I have a 290 on the way.

I'm loving my define s so far, my final four fans arrived today so I should be buying the rest of the watercooling parts that I need to get everything nice and quiet :D

still deciding on what blocks I should get on my cards, I'll probably get some ek ones to match my full nickel cpu block :)

Don't suppose anyone has a picture of the back of the motherboard tray?

Was wondering if I needed to buy an 8pin EPS extension cable. The PSU comes with a 65cm cable, but will it be long enough to route it as so.

Cheers.

How thick do you need a rad to be? Yours in the first pic seemed monstrous.
