Free quest 2 VR cover faceplate

I submitted my request on Saturday and got the link to order yesterday morning. Est delivery March 30th. I was about to order the AMVR one, but will hold off now to check this one out. To be fair, this wasn't meant to be a free faceplate to every quest owner, special promo. This was meant to be a fix for people with skin irritation. It's unfair to call it a shambles, I'm extremely surprised that they don't have tighter control over who can order these, but it's very generous to just offer this to everyone who knows where to look.

The first guy who replied to me asked for photos, if I'd gone to the doctors etc. I replied to him saying it was red and slightly raised, but that using my headstrap I've played without it touching my head since, and I hadn't taken photos, and didn't fancy deliberately getting a rash again to do so. Especially as he'd asked if I'd sought medical treatment!

I genuinely did get redness from it, I suspect it's more from the monster gorilla tag session, but even so, it was very noticeable.

I was looking at the amvr one too, and may still go for it, since it's thinner, but free is free!

I never got anything but an auto reply followed a few days later with a link. I wonder if it differs by how you got to the link.

I got the auto reply as well, so didn't respond to the first ticket for a while. Claimed I missed it, but seeing as I'd waited and hadn't got any more news on the cover, I wonder if it was being held by support until confirmation, but that wasn't the case.

Wtf I requested mine over a week ago and heard nothing yet you've now ordered yours.

Emailing them again

Still nothing on mine

Emailed asking how others have applied and got ordered within days yet I'm like 10 days with nothing.
Told the same generic ******** and I'll be contacted soon

Seems daft to say but have you checked spam etc for the email? I got an oculus support response and a separate order option a few days after submission.

Yeah check spam every day.
I'm getting them messages back telling me they are busy and I'll be updated soon.

I'm more annoyed people are requesting one after me and already on the way

Yup it's ridiculous.
I don't mind waiting if it was in order of asking for one but it seems totally random.

I don't own a vr cover and having issues so want it ASAP

You could always go 'old school' and buy one.

Perhaps if you did not try and be greedy and put 10 orders through they might have accepted it. Serves you right if you have been flagged as a chancer.

Wtf you on about??

I bought a quest a few weeks ago and been having genuine issues with irritation and red marks on face for 2/3 hours after use.

It's the idiots who want a freebies that cause delays for people who need them like me

Or oculus could supply a cover that doesn't cause skin sores with a £300 device??
I'll happily buy one if the refunded the cost but won't happen

People getting them to sell on ebay like most here are causing delays

What they've supplied for the money is absolutely astounding value. Can't blame them in the slightest for generally charging more for accessories.

Agreed. But I do take issue with them charging extra for the fit pack. If you are not lucky enough to have a face shape that fits the packaged one, add £40 on to the cost. Face shape discrimination!

OG Vive fit me fine, and I don't recall many people needing variants.

It's useable without the fit pack though, I could probably do with the narrow interface, which is why I looked at the amvr replacement, but that still doesn't change the fact that it's amazing value, even if you need the fit pack.
