Free wifi booster to sky customers

Mine arrived this morning. It's a lot smaller than the wireless extender I have upstairs so I might just replace that with this one.

Still can't seem to get the new router for free though, which is a shame. Maybe it's because I moved in the last 12 months.
 
Got mine this morning, manual setup (as oppose to WPS) took around 60 seconds, popped it downstairs next to the Sky Wireless On Demand gadget and seems to be working ok.

One thing I haven't tested yet, once the booster is on and working, can the RJ45 socket on the back be used to plug something in hard wired? hmmmm

Update - it can indeed, which means for anyone who has their Sky HD+ box connected to their wifi via the Sky On Demand gadget, can now ditch that, and plug the Sky HD+ box in to this booster and it does the same thing ... One less device!

Have you got one of the older type routers? If so then the customer offers page asks that you upgrade to one of the new hubs first, and then order a booster if you've still got a wifi blackspot.
 
Yet to recieve mine, apparantly its sitting in the Cwmbran Depo, waiting to be sent out for delivery.

Out of interest, any of you on the proper old sagem 2504, have you seen a big improvement on your wifi range, the Sagem one is shocking, its in the next room and my PS3, iphone laptop, ipad (Albeit has better wifi range) I get about 50%...Really not surprising really since its Wireless G
 
Got my yesturday, Wifi signal is much better, and for some reason i've seemed to gained an extra meg on my downstream, Was at around 6.8-7.1mb, now i'm syncing at 8100, don't even know how.

Still gonna claim a free repeater.
 
i ended up ringing Sky as I could not for the life of me be able to order one on there web site and there 'talk live to a chat advisor' was pointless.

I rang them and they looked into my account and found out that myself and some people even though eligible for the free booster had for some reason not had it put onto there account. So they are sending me one out in the next week or so.

Maybe of some help for other people on here who for some reason cannot also order from there web site.
 
My booster was ordered online and been delivered,boosting a wifi for my 3g Router :D
Yestererday i wasted an hour of my life with an `online chat`was after a hub to replace my sagem 2304
Rakesh on the other end was about as much use as a chocolate teapot(very polite though)he was trying to get me a booster which i have got then when i managed to convince him that it was a router/hub i was after he tried to get me to`test` my connection
Try plugging into the test socket
me:wont that disconnect me from the internet chat?
him:don't disconnect from chat.plug into test socket
me:???????? so anyway i followed orders and .Guess what??? yup it disconnected,obviously
What a waste of time.if it was not for their unlimited BB i would be off to another provider after having to deal with a numpty like that :(
 
got mine this morning, ten minutes later it's all setup and the signal is finally good throughout my house! Would still rather it was a proper wireless access point so if anyone come across an online hack to sort it out please let me know!
