Free wifi booster to sky customers

I ordered sky fibre yesterday with skytalk and rang them up again this mourning and sky said the offer ended yesterday for the free booster and wanted £20 for one.
Is this true because she did'nt seem sure as she said they may come back into stock and surely I'm entitled to a free one as I ordered everything yesterday.

They have closed the offer early due to high demand mate

Loads of people ordered when they didn't need it, 'cos it's free innit?' So I'm not surprised Sky finished it early. Tens of thousands have been ordered and I have no doubt hundreds of the things are up on eBay right now or will be in the next few weeks.

There appears to be quite a few on ebay now and they sell for more that £20, I eventually got mine after ordering it 8th Jan. TBH it has improved the signal, behaves exactly like my old Netgear wgps606 print server

What do you mean `proper`access point? :)
It works with other makes of router if that is what you mean

It's currently just a repeater for the existing wi-fi network which is not ideal for speed and bandwidth I would rather be able to connect it to my network via RJ-45 and have it setup as a separate wi-fi network as you would with a dedicated access point. This should offer better performance and less interference as a different channel can be used.

ahh I see,it does have a rj45 socket ,is it not possible to do what you are after with this?:)
I am just using mine as a repeater for my 3G router to reach the downstairs area

Mine is dropping synch nearly every day/night now and not reconnecting until I pull the plug and reconnect power
Anyone else ?
Not connected to sky router but to a 3g router, this is still working fine inc wireless:confused:
