The storyline, for the most part the actual game in freelancer, was as linear as it gets in game.
Short, sweet and some kind of wonderfull though. You were on a complete traintrack through the game, the desire to play through it was certainly all there. It had a good story, dragged you along with a great narrative, the on the run/peril element made the game incredibily immersive.
Freelancer is a fondly remembered game by most, the short and simple game that had a great hook, kinda like the call of duty of the genre, you were there for the ride.

tried the X series, beautiful huge, clunky controls (imo). freelancer with an updated graphics engine would be awesome
