FreeSync coming next month! (?)

Because having a market segment all to yourself for an entire year is a wash? You've used that phrase a lot recently Orangey. I'm assuming you're just throwing it around at the moment because you're not making much sense :D.

Brilliant stuff!

A whole market segment for a year assuming you wanted a 1080p screen and that specific model of monitor. And either wanted to diy it yourself or get one from the few etailers that sold it after they had done the diy upgrade and charged you the extra. Its only very lately that some kind of choice on res and monitor type has been available.

Well we all know there isn't any pleasing some people. Just don't understand the irony it's the same people happy to praise something for months that has yet to materialise.

Maybe so but lets not exaggerate as to what was available for the majority of that time. Reminds me of Henry Ford saying "Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black".

Should be interesting to see what materialises in any case.

Well me for one who is a Nvidia only user will delighted when free sync comes as it might bring the gsync monitors down in price as I have yet to buy mine. Since my PC is in pieces in boxes lying on my desk.

In theory Nvidia could support Freesync but lets be honest... They wont, its free lol. Dosn't make them money so bad business for them.

There's that, then there's the fact the g-sync module is programmable so could be made to do other things. The optimistic side of me says they've got plans - but we'll see I guess!

Is it gonna be as awesome as GSync is?

It'll be interesting to see if the price (to the end user) is affected because of the inclusion of this feature though.

They no reason why it couldn't be better. Freesync supports wider refresh rate range and also less over head. What this means to us we after wait and see. Csgo should be one the first games to be tested though. Gsync is very bad on this game, going by blurbusters.

Asking a silly question how will it Cover a wider range of Refresh? Pretty sure in the Gsync video on one of the threads here Nvidia stated Gsync supports the same rates as the monitor its on
Will freesync support wider range than the monitor?

See the FreeSync FAQ and you'll see ;)

Freesync has a more extensive list of ranges supported.
