FreeSync coming next month! (?)

Would they though? Shankly doesn't care about tearing and he's a PC enthusiast, why would some console user who probably doesn't even know what tearing is care about it?

Well since you asked i will turn that on it head and ask you: why wouldn't they?

With respect. It does not fall upon me to defend against a blanket statement made by yourself.

Your the one suggesting they don't care, and yet you do. explain your own reasoning.

Every time I go on UroGamer they're ****storming over some new 900p/30vs60 debacle. I'd say consolers are starting to care, at least as much as they can point score against the other system.

Please don't bypass the swear filter.

You're the one who originally assumed they would care.

To answer your question, most console gamers don't really give a damn about framerate, ghosting, blur and tearing. If they did it would put them off using a console. They've played for all those years and think it's a smooth and good experience without it so why would they go out and spend money on a freesync capable screen. I'd say many of them don't even take an interest in these type of technologies to even know about it. If I wasn't into PC hardware I wouldn't know about GSYNC or freesync.

If you and i care it is absolutly reasonable to work from the premmis that others do. again with respect its ridiculous to suggest you and i care but others don't, be they on Console or low end PC's.

It's not ridiculous at all, I've already explained the likelihood of why you and I would care.

You haven't explained why when you and i care someone running an APU wouldn't, to say "they don't know about it" is just another blanket statement to justify the original blanket statement, it doesn't wash.

Coming from the king of blanket statements himself?

I have explained it actually, you've just failed to read it.

If they cared they wouldn't be smashing along at a low frame rate for a prolonged period of time as their normal gaming set up?
You'd just get a ps4 rather than build a pc to chug along at 30 FPS or lower.

Its not as simple as that.

Not everyone can afford an i5, a branded PSU, Motherboard, GTX 760 / R9 270.......

It's going to cost most people £200+ just for a new monitor, who knows if they'll need new hardware as well.

Likelihood is for most it's going to be cheaper/equivalent cost and a better experience to upgrade than to tell yourself 20-30fps on a freesync monitor will be better.

I'd say exactly the same to those running the minimum nvidia GPU's for gsync as well.

If they want to game on PC's, perhaps as to avoid being locked into XBox live repeat subscription fees, then they are going to have to get a monitor anyway.
