Interesting to read that Bottas has been given Lewis' chassis, and Lewis has the one Bottas has been using. Lewis reports there's something wrong with the handling, and Merc offer him a new one if he wants.

Apparently they rotate a number of chassis throughout the season, haven't heard of teams swapping them out for another driver's though.

Not sure you are correct in that they both are using each other's chassis. Certainly Bottas is apparently using Hamilton's old one but I am sure it was stated Lewis had another from the pool. Besides it will require more than two practices and several races to prove the previous one Bottas was using had issues...

I believe there is a story that Nigel Mansell once swapped chassis with Patrese because Patrese was complaining that there must be something wrong with his chassis because he was slower. Mansell then went just as quick using Patrese's chassis and Patrese was just as slow using Mansell's...

EDIT: Sky are now stating that Lewis is indeed stating he's using Bottas's chassis, when Crofty stated yesterday he wasn't, but then what does he know. Anyway Lewis has stated chassis swop made no difference https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/...ssis-swap-made-no.3GHX9SVeCx836rldJfq2j7.html

Does the 107% rule still exist? He's not posted a qualifying time so surely he shouldn't be allowed to race tomorrow.

I think it is still a rule but they don't apply it in instances like this if the person has had decent practice times, it's for cars that actually can't get within 107% rather than someone stuffing up qualifying

Oof. Mercedes still don’t seem to have a handle on their car from this years rule changes do they. I thought they’d have been back up there by now.
