Fringe is utter carp?

- Lack of hot chicks. The main char is too manly.

I'm totally with you on that one... oh wait no ;)

Reasons:

- The crazy old man isn't funny or endearing. He's just tedious.
- Lack of hot chicks. The main char is too manly.

The rest of your points I can understand, not everyone is going to like Fringe or the way it's made but Anna Torv is hot and Denethor is brilliant!

The first season was very shakey in parts but it does get a lot better, it is very similar to the X-Files except more psuedo sciency than paranormal. If you don't like it after the first season then I wouldn't recommend you continue with it.

Completely agree with the OP. I tried to like it but the psuedo science is a real turn-off for me and not even close to being convincing.

I wasn't really into it in season one. Season two was alright, got much better in the second half. Season three i thought was brilliant, really enjoyed it. The only thing that was annoying was they kept moving it around the schedule.

- Lack of hot chicks. The main char is too manly.

mmm, in season 1 maybe, but not after that.

I watched the first 3 episodes of series 1 as it was recommended in this very forum.

I managed half way through the 3rd episode and had to switch it off. Stupid stupid storyline and characters.
Not to mention the use of science. I know It's a sci-fi series but I couldn't keep a straight face while watching!

Do I dare to try series 2?

I stopped watching after Season 1 over a year ago, not for any particular reason but mostly just because it wasn't holding my attention like other stuff I was watching at the time. Friend at work urged me to start watching it again so she'd have someone to talk to about it, so I did, and I'm glad of it.

Season 1 was a bit annoying because very little of each episode seemed to actually contribute towards the overall storyline, season 2 suffers from that far less and there's really only a few episodes here and there that aren't part of the main story. About to start season 3 which I'm quite looking forward to.

Oh, and I really liked the 80s intro jackthezipper has posted, was such a brilliant addition to that episode.

op is a blasphemer!

wiki quote

"Fringe science is scientific inquiry in an established field of study that departs significantly from mainstream or orthodox theories, and is classified in the "fringes" of a credible mainstream academic discipline."

seems like if it was all down to earth accepted science solving the problems in the show it would completely defy the nature of the show?
either way science fiction depicted fringe science is going to be hard to swallow as credible but thats the point isnt it? sounds like the op has missed it... the point that is

great show and on the whole very recommended. Olivia is super hot too!!

Ha, yeah I think Fringe is the polar opposite to top gear. But fringe kicks ass, great sci-fi in these times with hardly any good sci-fi shows knocking about.
